The sodium reduction campaign, aims to improve public health by encouraging the reduction of our daily salt intake. This awareness was brought to life through a market storm at Oke-Arin Market within the famous Balogun Market in Lagos.

High intake of salt is one of the leading causes of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs), such as cardiovascular diseases, which causes blood pressure and damages blood vessels, the heart, and kidneys, increasing the risks of hypertension, stroke, and heart failure.

In Nigeria, cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death as many Nigerians regularly consume high-sodium foods, often far exceeding WHO’s recommended daily intake levels of less than 5g (1 level teaspoon).

In partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health Nigeria and Resolve to Save Lives, with support from , the campaign was launched to raise awareness and promote healthier dietary choices, protect famlies, and empower individuals to live longer, healthier lives.
