To mark the 2026 World Glaucoma Week, the Ophthalmology Department of the hospital joined the global effort to raise awareness about Glaucoma, one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide.

This year’s theme, “Uniting for a Glaucoma-Free World,” emphasizes the importance of collective action in preventing vision loss through early detection and regular eye examinations.

The Opthalmology department conducted free glaucoma screening tests for members of staff, providing eye pressure checks and professional consultations.

The exercise aimed to encourage early detection, increase awareness, and promote regular eye examinations, as glaucoma often develops without noticeable symptoms until significant vision loss occurs.

The hospital is fully committed to promoting preventive healthcare and eye health awareness within the community.
