Today, we raise our voices for every woman, every mother, and every baby. Safe motherhood is not a privilege, It is a right.

As a Midwife, I have seen the strength of women in pregnancy, the courage in labour, and the joy of safe delivery. But I have also seen how preventable complications can change lives in an instant.

Every mother deserves:
✔️ Quality antenatal care
✔️ Skilled birth attendance
✔️ Access to emergency obstetric care
✔️ Respectful and compassionate treatment

No woman should lose her life while giving life.

Let’s continue to educate, support, and advocate for safer pregnancies and deliveries in our communities. Encourage every pregnant woman around you to register for ANC early and stay consistent.

To all the strong mothers and mothers-to-be we see you, we celebrate you, and we stand with you 🤍

Safe motherhood saves lives.

I had to correct someone today and honestly, it needed to be said the way it was said.

A client I recently registered for ANC had fainted during her first visit just after giving blood for her investigation in the lab.She was cared for, stabilized, and even had to be admitted at another time.

Yesterday, she came for follow-up. She mentioned she couldn’t wait for one of her results because she was exhausted, so I offered to help check it for her.

Today, I went to the lab… and as I collected her result, someone casually said,
“That woman wey dey always faint.”

I stopped him immediately.

Never reduce a pregnant woman to her symptoms.

Because beyond me be a midwife, I’ve been there.
I’ve carried life "twice" .
I’ve seen strength that looks like weakness from the outside.

PS:🚨🚨Viewers Discretion is advised🚨🚨
That was me,Three weeks postpartum with my first child, I woke up to something unexplainable.
No clear diagnosis after my visit to the hosp.
No medication worked.
It came with intense discomfort, because I was itching like mad then, just like that, it resolved after five days.

Till today, there’s no explanation.

Note: Pregnancy and postpartum are not just physical states, they are deeply complex, very unpredictable journeys.

So when you see a pregnant woman:
Be kind in your words.
Be gentle in your actions.
Be intentional with your care.

And to nursing mothers, the real mobile milk industry, do well to check on them, support them, and give them grace.

There’s a lot happening in their bodies that the eyes cannot see.

Good Friday reminds us that through PAIN comes PURPOSE, and through sacrifice comes life.

As a midwife, I witness this truth daily, mothers endure intense pain, uncertainty, and sacrifice, all to bring forth new life.

Just like today symbolizes a journey through suffering to victory, every birth tells a story of strength, hope, and renewal.

Today, we reflect on sacrifice… and celebrate the beauty of life that follows.

Today we observe World Autism Awareness Day, a reminder that every child deserves to be seen, understood, and supported.

Autism is not a limitation; it is a different way of experiencing the world.

Behind every quiet moment is a mind processing deeply.
Behind every challenge is strength waiting to be nurtured.

As healthcare professionals, caregivers, and a community, our role is not to “fix” but to support, include, and advocate.

Different, not less.
Unique, not broken.
Let’s listen more.
Let’s learn more.
Let’s create spaces where every child can thrive.

7 years of waiting.
9 months of carrying hope again.
19 extra days of holding on just a little longer.

Through fertility struggles…
Through miscarriages…
Through the pain of an ectopic pregnancy…

Today, their story changed.
A cry was heard.
A promise fulfilled.
A testimony delivered.
This is a reminder that even when the journey is long and uncertain, life can still find its way.

To every woman still waiting, your story is not over.

Storytime!!!!

Today was one of those long, exhausting shifts… the kind that really tests your strength.

But in the middle of it all, I had a moment that made everything worth it.

I had the privilege of sharing good news with a woman who came in to see the doctor… her pregnancy result was positive.
The moment I broke the goodnews she shouted “Alhamdulillah!” with so much joy.

I couldn’t help but smile. I simply told her, “Come and register for your ANC next week.”

And just like that, the stress of the day faded a little.
Moments like this remind me why I do what I do.

I am The Nurse That Sails

Am still celebrating our Twins.

Drop your comments on how you reacted when you first knew you were pregnant.

And if you a man. Let's here how u reacted to the goodnews
