Recent studies show that those who actively practice their religion not just say they believe in God, but actually pray, attend services, and stay involved with their spiritual community — live longer and healthier lives.
Over a period of approximately 15 to 20 years, research found that people who regularly attend religious activity have:
About 30% less death from any cause
About 25% reduced heart disease or cancer-related death,
And
Lower anxiety, depression, and stress levels overall.
Doctors think this is partly because religion fosters hope, social connection, healthy habits, and inner calm — all of which strengthen the body and mind.
While scientists can't definitively say that faith keeps individuals healthier, evidence strongly suggests that living out one's faith has genuine, long-term benefits to mental and physical health.
