I was about to cook today and I notice that the rice remaining was not going to be enough, so I decided to rush to the nearest shop and buy one cup of rice and add.

I had the greatest shock of my life. Guess what, the woman selling told me one cup of rice is #250. To me I taught she was trying to cheat me so I said let me try another shop close by because is been long I bought rice in cups. I do buy in baskets (not bag ooo I don't have 40k)

To my greatest surprise is the same #250 the previous woman told me I was stocked.

I think this is the right time to sing that song that said ''WHICH WAY NIGERIA?'' or ''NIGERIA JAGAJAGA''?

One of the best African food spice that leaves you asking for more like Oliver Twist.

African Nutmeg popularly known as Ehuru is a spice that comes in a hard shell that has this beautiful seed in just one shell. These seeds here can be grounded into powder to bring about that grandma's flavor that you've missed really good.

Ehuru can be added into varieties of African dishes but many of you have only used it for pepper soup because it brings that aromatic scents that leaves people craving for the pepper soup

Believe me , apart from pepper soup . Ehuru can be added to the following African foods / dishes:

1. Soups
2. Stew
3. Pottage(Yam or plantain pottage)
4. Oil rice (with scent leaves and roughly blended peppers ) Aww!🤣
5. Isi-ewu isn't complete without this spice

My Benin customer asked me if I have Ikposa and I told her No because I didn't know what she meant until she brought in sample of Ikposa. I guess you have heard another name for Ehuru.

When I read through my late mum's spices book I learnt that it is called calabash nutmeg and if not that I saw the picture of the nuts I wouldn't have known it was calabash nutmeg and I guess you didn't know this name too. We learn everyday and you can tell me another name for it if you want...

Meanwhile it has lots of health benefits which many use it to lower cholesterol

For some women, it is use to increase body heat as many use it as aphrodisiac as it helps to improve low libido 😁women o yeah🏃🏃

Tips for a quality peanut.

The quality of your peanut is determined by the quality of the groundnut you use. Don't choose groundnut carelessly and expect to coat it with flour and everything will be fine, no!

Here are useful tips you should look out for:
1. Brown plain
Use a brown plain groundnut not a "zebra" (Kampala) groundnut. Though the zebra groundnut is big and looks more attractive, it has excess oil and it'll lead to reactions like headache, pimple etc when consumed in excess.

"Zebra"(Kampala) groundnut is mainly used for kulikuli and oil extraction.

2. Neat
Save yourself time and energy and go for a neat groundnut

3. Minimal breakage
Broken groundnuts do not make well rounded peanuts, you have to pick them out. To avoid waste and shortage in final outcome, look for groundnut with minimal breakage.

4. Minimal rotten
I know you will pick your groundnut, but still save your time by looking out for minimal rotten groundnut.
Once someone eats up to 3 rotten groundnut in your peanut, the review won't be nice

5. Big seeded groundnut
Big seeded groundnut looks more attractive after processing into peanut!
