The Bayelsa State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board and our dedicated partners, officially flagged off the Integrated Measles–Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign today at the OMPADEC School Field, Amarata.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of the Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board emphasized that this 10-day intensive drive is held in profound honor of His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
In a moving tribute, the Executive Secretary reminded us of the Deputy Governor’s charge: “If any child comes down with a preventable disease while we are in leadership, it is our fault.” We have accepted that charge. To honor his memory, our teams are doubling their energies to ensure no child is left behind.
Important Campaign Details:
Dates: 27th January – 5th February 2026
Target: Children aged 9 months to 14 years.
Integrated Services: In addition to Measles-Rubella, vaccines, HPV and Malaria are also available.
Health workers will be in the facilities and on the field across every nook and cranny of the state. Parents, guardians, and stakeholders let us work together to give our children the protection they deserve.
Together, let us build a healthier Bayelsa State.
