Results4Care

Results 4 Care supports clients with research, development, consulting and education about health care informatics.

In particular we research information needs of health professionals, develop functional requirements, develop standards, consult on health IT projects and teach health informatics. A special topic is detailed clinical modeling. We work mostly on the electronic health record / personal health records. Functional requirements, data element specifications, terminologies and coding and information models are our best assets.

Vorige week Nursing Informatics 2014 bezocht. We hadden in totaal 4 presentaties, waarvan 3 in een panel. Onderwerpen waren;
- HL7 voor verpleegkundigen en wat kunnen verpleegkundigen doen voor HL7
- Clinical Data Warehouse
- Patient participation in own Health
- HL7 bericht voor de zorg aan oncologische patienten
Het thema van het congres was East meets West. Opvallend was de steeds grotere rol van de patient in de eigen gezondheid en zorgverlening en de rol van de verpleegkundig en verpleegkundige informatica hierin.
Daarnaast weer veel collega's, maar ook vrienden, ontmoet en gesproken.

The Health Level 7 TSC approved the formal publication and registration at ANSI of two balloted DCMs body lenght and body weight. A major step forward after so many years of work and discussion to handle DCMs in HL7. New DCMs do require a new project scope statement and decision making procedure to be followed.

The DCM Quality Center met again yesterday. We had a fruitful meeting and move forward with the procedures for governance of Dutch DCM and a repository for DCM with an international focus, but adaptive for Dutch DCM input.
The Creative Commons licensing was accepted too, the one that does not allow to sell DCMs, similar to CIMI, but does allow to create and use DCM in commercial products. Will be worked out in detail.

Just prepared the report to Health Level 7 for the next deliverable for the Electronic Health Record System Functional Profile tooling work. The Excel to XML export looks ready, with the tool Andy Stechishin created, the XML to Enterprise Architect looks ready with the tooling Michael van der Zel created, and the first draft of the User Guide accompanying it, which Anneke Goossen created. We are moving now to the validation and the publication components.

Prepared a presentation about the Health Level 7 Electronic Health Record System Functional Model and the hospital domain model. To be presented at the meeting next week with the national hospitals association.
