What happens when imaging technologies come together with a shared purpose?

Targeted prostate biopsy using MRI–ultrasound fusion represents a new way of approaching prostate imaging, bringing multiparametric MRI and real-time transrectal ultrasound into one workflow. The result is a more focused way to visualize and target areas of interest during biopsy procedures.

In this webinar, Prof. Carlos Nicolau guides you through this approach, exploring the fusion technology behind it, the procedural workflow, the clinical evidence, and the practical considerations that shape its use in daily practice.

Percutaneous thermal ablation ( ) is a well-established first-line treatment option for small hepatic lesions (typically less than 5 cm of diameter) in eligible patients. Especially in recent years, ablation technology and image guidance have evolved, resulting in the ability to perform more complex procedures and expand this therapeutic option to more patients.

In a recent meta-analysis published on analyzing more than 4,000 patients from 49 studies, exceptional safety of PTA has been confirmed, highlighting a procedure-related mortality rate close to zero and a proportion of adverse events of only 3%. This provides a benchmark on procedural safety, supporting PTA as a low-risk treatment for liver malignant neoplasms with consistent safety outcomes.

At , we are committed to advancing image-guidance technologies that support the evolution of Interventional Radiology. Focusing on multimodality solutions, Alphenix 4D CT enables better visualization of anatomical structures and procedure workflow, facilitating the safe and efficient performance of PTA.

Step into the future of Interventional Oncology at our symposium during ECIO 2026, where Alphenix 4D CT is transforming the way clinicians work.

Imagine a single, seamless environment where advanced imaging technologies work together, enabling clinicians to achieve precision, efficiency, and confidence in handling even the most complex cases.

From the first scan to the final treatment, this multimodality approach guides the entire patient journey, helping clinicians make smarter decisions and deliver better outcomes, transforming challenges into possibilities.

Over a cycling season, the athlete’s heart is in constant motion, adapting, responding, evolving. But how does that change really happen over time?

The CADENCE study, led by Dr. Boris Delpire and Prof. Guido Claessen, follows professional cyclists across an entire season to answer that question. In collaboration with the University of Hasselt, Hartcentrum Hasselt, Soudal–Quick-Step, and AG Insurance–Soudal, it combines cardiac imaging, performance data, and biomarkers to uncover how training and competition shape the heart.

We are proud to support this study with high-quality cardiac imaging using Aplio beyond, helping track subtle heart adaptations in real-world conditions.

Canon Medical is collaborating with clinicians, researchers, and World Tour teams that race top races as Paris–Roubaix, Liège–Bastogne–Liège, the Tour de France, the Tour de France Femmes, and Il Lombardia.

Early detection can change outcomes. But screening only works when it can reach people.

On , that connection between evidence and access feels especially important.

Science shows the value of ; but evidence only has impact when screening is accessible. Mobile Imaging Solutions can support that access by bringing CT imaging closer to people and care pathways.

With Canon Medical’s mobile CT solutions, like the – an expandable, self-supporting clinical unit with separate patient access and a lift for patients with limited mobility – healthcare providers can bring imaging closer to care settings with the flexibility screening programs often need.

As Canon, we believe the next boundary in radiology is pushed step by step, through clinical evidence, shared experience, collaboration, and the questions we keep asking.

Across CT, MR, Ultrasound, X-ray, and Healthcare IT, the conversations at ECR 2026 highlighted a shared goal: advancing imaging to support a better patient experience, personalized care, and improved outcomes, with an attention to social, environmental, and financial sustainability in radiology departments.

Thank you to everyone who connected with us in Vienna. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of knowledge together!

At ECR 2026, don’t miss the presentation by Leening Liu and colleagues (UPenn, Philadelphia, USA), who compared differences in low contrast detectability (LCD) across various reconstruction algorithms and doses. Their study used 3D-printed anthropomorphic abdominal phantoms acquired with wide-area detector CT (Aquilion ONE INSIGHT, Canon Medical Systems).

The findings demonstrate that Super-Resolution DLR achieves superior LCD performance than conventional reconstruction algorithms, including Filtered Back Projection, Hybrid Iterative Reconstruction, and Normal-Resolution DLR, across different dose levels and phantom sizes.

In realistic phantom settings, the study shows that Super-Resolution DLR can improve the visualization of subtle lesions, even in larger patients or at reduced doses, thereby supporting greater diagnostic confidence.
