A pulling pain in your lower back, tingling in your leg, or a strange pressure in your buttocks? That could be sciatica.

Often, the nerve itself isn’t the problem. Tension, blockages, or limited mobility increase the pressure. This is exactly where yoga comes in.

With targeted exercises, you can mobilise your pelvis, strengthen your muscles, and relieve pressure on the nerve. All very gently and mindfully :)

It might sound a bit ‘woo-woo’, but something as simple as taking off your shoes and standing on grass can lower inflammation, calm the nervous system and help you feel more like yourself again ⛰️🍃

How to do Padangusthasana (Big Toe Pose) from 🧿
𖤓 Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart
𖤓 Straighten your legs, engage the core, and place your hands on your waist
𖤓 Exhale and bend forward from the hips, keeping the spine and legs straight
𖤓 Hold the big toes firmly using the thumb, index, and middle fingers. Keep the palms facing each other
𖤓 Keep the arms straight and look forward
𖤓 Inhale and move the elbows outwards, stretching the shoulder blades
𖤓 As you exhale, bend deeper, bringing the head towards the knees and gently pulling the body towards the toes.
𖤓 Breathe normally and hold the pose
𖤓 Inhale and lift the head and chest halfway up
𖤓 Exhale and place your hands back on your waist
𖤓 Inhale and slowly come up to a standing position, bringing the feet together

If you find it difficult to hold the big toes, you can micro-bend the knees or use a yoga strap. How did it feel?
