Yes, you’re reading it on Instagram. Where else would we catch your attention? 😅

Being off social media seems unrealistic today... Especially if you’re a yoga teacher. The good thing is that there are ways to be present online without relying on doomscrolling to escape negative emotions. We call it a yogic approach to social media 🤳🧘‍♀️

And since yoga is a practical science, we are sharing with you a free ‘Centring before doing’ meditation to help you cultivate awareness of your actions. Comment ‘pause’, and we’ll send it to you 💌❣️

Eka Pada Rajakapotasana can be incredibly satisfying - physically and emotionally. There’s nothing wrong with picking your variation of this asana if it helps you to surrender to the sensations.

🐦 Observe what you feel. You might notice a stretch along the side of your hip and buttock on the front leg (hip rotators), and along the front of your hip on the back leg (hip flexors). Aim to observe any emotions surfacing, followed by a sense of release and calmness afterwards.

If you don’t feel much or experience painful sensations, you might benefit from some alignment tips. Comment ‘send’, and our pigeon will deliver you a letter with the Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (Pigeon pose) tutorial 🫴🕊️✉️

How would that feel if there was nothing to fix?

🧿 When we speak about self-compassion, we’re actually speaking about the recognition that we are suffering. Often, suffering appears quietly as tension, self-judgement, the feeling that something is wrong with us or... shame.

It is rooted in the shared human need to be loved. And this is where compassion begins: noticing the judgment without adding more harshness. Could you try to do just that?

You might notice that many emotions come up for you during a Locust pose (Salabhasana), and there’s a reason behind that.

Our natural response to danger is to curl inward to protect the heart, both physical and energetic. Backbends gently invite us to do the opposite.

As the chest and upper body open, the Heart chakra (Anahata) is stimulated, allowing us to meet our emotions, experiences, and relationships with greater openness. In Locust Pose (Salabhasana), we lift and open toward the world. This exposure asks for courage ❤️

The good thing is that overcoming our fears on the mat can give us courage off the mat, too, so... Shall we explore some Salabhasana variations? 🫂
