🔵 EHBO vs. Tactical, Remote & Survival Medicine

Als je een beetje bent geïnteresseerd in medisch handelen tijdens noodsituaties heb je vast wel is gehoord van Tactical Medicine (vrij vertaald: tactische geneeskunde).

Wat is dan Remote Medicine of Survival Medicine en hoe verhouden deze ‘soorten geneeskunde’ zich tot elkaar?

Zowel in een civiele & militaire setting is alles erop gericht om een slachtoffer zo snel mogelijk te transporteren naar specialistisch medische zorg.

Deze tijd, van het moment van gewond raken, tot aan dat een slachtoffer of patiënt in een medische faciliteit terecht komt, kan enorm variëren.

Tijdens de oorlogen in Afghanistan en Irak was het zogenaamde ‘Golden Hour’ vrijwel heilig. Er mocht niet meer dan 60 minuten tijd tussen zitten van het moment van gewond raken tot behandeling in een medische faciliteit. In deze landen had men volledig ‘luchtoverwicht’ en was er een enorm netwerk opgebouwd van medische faciliteiten verdeeld over het gebied.

De huidige oorlog in Oekraïne laat weer hele andere uitdagingen zien. Geen luchtoverwicht, enorme aantallen slachtoffers, moeilijk terrein, beperkte middelen. Hier wordt inmiddels gesproken over de Four Golden Hours.

Al deze lessen, uit de militaire medische wereld, druppelen uiteindelijk altijd door naar de “civiele wereld”. Tijdens een grote ramp of crises, waarbij het zorg stelsel overbelast is / niet meer operationeel is, zijn deze lessen van onschatbare waarde.

Hoe hou ik iemand voor langere tijd in leven zonder dat ik kan rekenen op een ambulance die binnen 15 minuten voor de deur staat?

It's war in Ukraine and how can you start making a difference?

My name is Nikki and I am a senior instructor at Advanced Forces Group in The Netherlands. Through the initiative Save123life we are not going to do stand by and do nothing, but help!

At the moment there are many civilian casualties, people just like you and me. Emergency services are extremely busy and medical help often arrives too late. The Ukrainian people who are on the front lines and currently making molotov cocktails, also need the access to medical knowledge & skills to save lives.

Advanced Forces Group made the First Responder training available last week and translated it into Ukrainian. In this 3-hour training, you will learn the basics of keeping an injured person alive.

It is essential that everyone knows what to do and how to treat injured persons after a bombing or battle.

The training can be attended from a smartphone. So that civilians and military personnel are prepared for these kind of situations and can immediately start saving lives.

1 euro = 1 license for the Ukrainian people.

Zojuist de melding gekregen van een ongeval waarbij een kind met zijn arm door het raam was gevallen. Toen de collega's plaatse kwamen waren inmiddels meerdere buren die de eerste hulp hadden verleend.

Think it’s important to point out that the injured man was able to craft what would be considered a “proper” improvised TQ - wide band of cloth with a windlass and it was NOT effective in stopping bleeding! Still want to depend on one to save some $ instead of being prepared and purchasing a proven commercially available TQ?

10 june 2020, my colleagues from the police station were sent to a house in . Here the resident was bitten by his own dog. As a result, he had a serious wound to his leg.

The were able to stop the bleeding whit a CAT tourniquet , after which the man was further cared for by the ambulance staff. The man is doing well.
•
A the photo you also see an improvised tourniquet. applied before the colleagues arrived on the scene. It’s made from some cloth and screwdriver.
