Oregon State University researchers have developed an iron-based nanomaterial that exploits the acidic, high-hydrogen-peroxide environment of tumors to destroy cancer cells from within. By triggering a dual chemical reaction, this therapeutic agent floods cancer cells with oxygen-damaging radicals, inducing lethal stress while leaving healthy tissues unharmed.
