Osteopathy for Performers
It all started for me with a passion for dance and a 15 year career as a professional ballet dancer with the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Dutch National Ballet companies. It matured through personal experiences with the numerous dance related injuries and led to the discovery of physiotherapy (B.Sc.) and sports physiotherapy (M.Sc.) studies. These were followed by the years of working at the sports/dance physiotherapy clinic. The journey eventually ended at the Art of Osteopathy. The passion for dance was re-found! ...And the “dancing with hands" started.
More then two decades of personal and professional experiences with injuries of an artistic profession have taught me that a holistic approach in preventing and/or rehabilitating injuries in performing arts as well as in sports is truly beneficial!
Therefore, at O · S · T · E · O we offer manual manipulation and/or mobilisation techniques that are focused not only on the musculoskeletal system but also on the organ (visceral) and nervous systems (cranium, spinal column) in order to optimally support healing processes of the body.
