Jaa, gaat dat zien!!! Echt een prachtige muziekvoorstelling / vertelconcert, meeslepend verteld en gezongen door Monique De Adelhart Toorop en om/doorweeft met muziek door de geweldige muziekanten PieterJan Cramer van den Bogaart, Nout Ingen Housz en Dion Nijland. Je waant je even in een andere tijd gedurende het verhaal van Indra. Zeer zeer de moeite waard.

Op de foto mijn review van de voorstelling Indra van 1,5 jaar geleden (zo ongeveer). Voor wie mijn handschrift niet kan lezen (wie wel??), dit is wat ik toen schreef:

“Wat een creativiteit, samenspel, afstemming, samen gaan, op elkaar ingespeeld-zijn. Ongelofelijk mooi en bijzonder. Een totaal ervaring. Elk van de muzikanten / spelers werden méér in het samenspel met elkaar. Ik ben eigenlijk nog zonder woorden. Echt onder de indruk, niet alleen van het vakmanschap, maar vooral door de toewijding en het vollédig in het moment zijn met elkaar. Als ‘toeschouwer’ werd ik mee genomen en onderdeel van het verhaal. Dit is Art which touches the heart & soul.”

Dus... gaat dat zien!!!

As some of you may know that have started a trauma-healing training: Somatic Experiencing (the work of Peter Levine) in 2023; I am in my second year now. I am looking for 2 clients for coaching, to start putting into practice the things I am learning. You can come with any question / issue that might be alive for you - from pregnancy / birth related issues, situations in parenting, about where you are in life and what else there is to explore for you. I will most probably combine what I am learning in the SE Training with coaching modalities. Or not.... that is also something to explore together, what suits you best.

I can accommodate 2 clients at the moment - with a minimum of 3 sessions and a maximum of 8 sessions together (with a possibility to extend). Sessions will be 1h15min long and will cost €54,- (50% off my normal rate). Sessions will be on Tuesdays.

PS Disclosure: I am not a therapist and even though SE is a trauma-healing training, I am not offering therapy. The sessions may be therapeutic, but that is not the aim of it. They will more be like coaching / counselling sessions. If you have experienced birth trauma, we can definitely address that, it does fall within the range of what I'm offering. If you have any other trauma and you are pregnant and you'd like to see how you can prepare yourself for the upcoming birth, that also falls within the offering.

Yesterday was the première of the theater/dance production Romeo & Julia from / HNTjong , with 7 actors and 6 dancers - with Tara .pula as one of the dancers 🔥🔥💖💖🌟🌟.

The merge of dance and theater is very well done and immerses the spectator in a full on experience - also the lighting, staging, sound and music is amazing. Strong acting from especially as well as the other actors; the dansers are strong in presence, expresion and movement, adding a layer of intensity and depth to the story line. The expressive choreography is by .

The storyline is loosely based on Shakespeare's drama, set in a future in which the world is altered by heavy storms and flooding. Julia and Romeo are still under the influence of their families / elders, but in a totally different way. It's a story of becoming and discovering who you are. A beautiful 'coming of age' story ❤️. Definitely relatable for young people, both in story as in visual / dramaturgie. The script is written by

* Coaching - mother coaching; prenatal coaching - specialised in preparing for birth when you have previously experienced (birth) trauma; postnatal coaching - making sense of your birth experience, birth trauma coaching (1hour15min - €90,-)

My post may seem bleek, and yes, at times it all feels hopeless and overwhelming. But I have to say, the act of writing and sharing it, gives me purpose and inspiration.

Praying for peace can only come after taking action ourselves. It won't happen without our active involvement to change the discourse in our countries. We can not stay silent, nor stay passive. And each to their own, the way you contribute to this, whether it be in your small circle of influence, or maybe politically or publicly, or in the way you lead your life and touch & inspire others. To open your heart to others, to be kind, of help and seeking justice, solidarity and coming from a sense of a shared humanity, is an act, not a prayer. And maybe the act then becomes a prayer, filled with intention, hope and a vision for a better future.

Some time ago I received a generous donation into my doula fund. I am touched and moved that for the first birthday of her baby, my client thought of other mothers who would not be able to afford doulasupport 🙏🏼🙏🏼💗💗
It is especially for this reason that I installed this doula fund! I myself put aside a certain amount from each doula trajectory, so that I can offer doula support on a sliding scale a few times a year. Clients and others are very welcome to donate as well@of course.

I am deeply grateful for my client’s thoughtfulness and generous gesture. I hope it inspires others (client and doulas!) to have similar initiatives, so doulasupport comes into the reach of the many.

On my way home from a 6-day immersion in discovering the vast landscape of Somatic Experiencing - in the first block of the 3-year SE Training by Peter Levine.

The material, exercises, theory, inquiry is at the same time familiar, recognizable and building / landing upon everything that I have learned so far (about nervous systems, regulation, trauma etc) - at the same time it feels radically different.

I’m excited to already start implementing some of the practicals into my existing work, and also realise I’m just at the start of it and there is still a lot still to discover, learn and integrate. And! There is a big added joy: am doing it together with 😍💃🏻💗💗
