Ayahuasca is known for its depth and introspective nature. It brings unconscious material into awareness and can offer insight into unresolved trauma, emotional blockages, and deeply rooted patterns of thinking and behaviour. San Pedro, also known as Wachuma, works in a complementary way. This medicine is grounding and heart-opening, often supporting clarity, connection, and integration. Where Ayahuasca can confront and reveal, San Pedro helps what has been seen to settle into the body and into daily life.

In our experience, these two medicines support each other naturally. Together they create a process that is deep, yet stabilising, offering both challenge and gentleness where needed.
We work in a small and professional setting where safety, attention, and respect are central. The ceremonies take place in a Mongolian yurt and are guided by facilitators with over ten years of experience. We work with a traditional Ayahuasca brew, prepared according to teachings passed on to us by the Shipibo tribe in Peru.

The work we do is grounded and careful, free from spiritual performance or ego, and held with respect for both the participants and the medicines.

This retreat is suited for those who feel ready to look at their past, release negative patterns, and explore deeper layers of the human experience in an honest and supported way.

The process can be confronting at times, yet it is oriented toward clarity, understanding, and integration.

We work in a small and carefully held setting where safety, trust, and presence are central. The ceremony takes place in a Mongolian yurt and is guided by facilitators with over ten years of experience, who are present in a loving, authentic, and attentive way throughout the process. The guidance is attuned to what arises, with care for both the individual journey and the group field. During this retreat, two consecutive Ayahuasca ceremonies take place on Friday and Saturday evening. Ayahuasca is known for its deep and introspective nature and can bring unconscious layers into awareness, offering insight into unresolved trauma, emotional blockages, and deeply rooted patterns of thought and behaviour. Working with two consecutive ceremonies allows insights to unfold and continue naturally.

On Saturday afternoon, we guide a connected breathwork session. This form of breathwork supports the release of tension and deepens body awareness, and can help create space for deeper insights in the second ceremony. The breath acts as a bridge between experience, feeling, and further opening.

Ayahuasca Weekend Retreat with breathwork

Sometimes you feel it’s time to stop searching and start experiencing. A moment to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect with what truly lives inside you. During this special weekend, we invite you into a warm and safe environment where healing, insight, and connection are at the heart of everything we do.

We gather in a cozy yurt with a wood stove, surrounded by the quiet fields near Zaltbommel. Our team of experienced facilitators, with over 10 years of practice, provides a caring and professional space in which you can fully surrender to the process. Everything is welcome here — the light and the dark, the gentle and the intense — just like life itself.

On Friday evening we begin with the first Ayahuasca ceremony: a journey inward, supported by music, silence, and loving guidance. On Saturday afternoon, we work with connected breathing, a deep breathing technique that releases tension in the body and gently brings emotions to the surface. This breathing journey helps integrate the first ceremony and opens the heart for the second Ayahuasca ceremony that same evening.

The combination of breath and plant medicine deepens the experience: the body relaxes, awareness expands, and insights arise with greater clarity. Many participants describe this weekend as a complete cycle of release, transformation, and coming home to oneself.

The stay is fully inclusive, with screening, intake, sharing circle, and nourishing meals. The group is intentionally small, with a maximum of 11 participants, allowing space for genuine connection and personal attention.

MedicinePath is an organization in the Netherlands that hosts Ayahuasca and San Pedro ceremony's. Medicinepath was founded by Erik Hendriks who has been working with these wonderful plant medicines since 2016.

Erik co-founded Pachamama Temple, an international Ayahuasca center in Pucallpa, Peru. He was a manager and facilitator at this retreat center for over three years where he was trained by one of the Shipibo Maestro's.

In 2019, Erik came back to the Netherlands and founded his organization to continue his work with these master plants. We organize our ceremonies in the town of Zaltbommel, where we have a beautiful yurt that serves as our ceremony space.

Dit weekend weer een prachtig uitzicht bij het naar buiten stappen van de ceremonie yurt !

Wil jij kennis komen maken met ayahuasca, een traditioneel plantmedicijn uit de amazone of ben je benieuwd naar de grootvader San Pedro ?

Nu al weer 6 jaar geleden ben ik afgereisd naar Peru om daar in de jungle kennis te gaan maken met moeder ayahuasca. Ik heb daarna een aantal jaar in Pachamama Temple in Peru mogen werken met een prachtige familie van Shipibo sjamanen. Het was een zeer leerzame tijd met veel uitdagingen maar ook met prachtige momenten en reizen die mij uiteindelijk hebben gebracht naar waar ik nu ben. Graag geef ik met alle ervaringen die ik heb opgedaan nu ook andere mensen de kans om met deze prachtige plant leraren te komen werken.
We schenken een traditioneel medicijn zoals ons dat is geleerd in Peru.

Je wordt tijdens ceremonies in een veilige en vertrouwde omgeving begeleidt door een professioneel team van ervaren facilitators. We hebben een maximale groepsgrootte en werken met meerdere facilitators omdat we het zeer belangrijk vinden om iedereen ook echt individueel aandacht te kunnen geven.

Wij maken vrijdag de datums voor het eerste deel van 2023 bekend.

Heel veel dank Rieke Bloempje voor je geweldige optreden tijdens onze laatste San Pedro ceremonie. Wat een prachtige stem en uitstraling. Kwetsbaar door de liedjes die je zelf hebt geschreven en de bijbehorende verhalen, maar ook zo sterk in wat je doet en wie je bent! We hopen nog veel vaker van je optredens te mogen genieten.. en we hopen dat je het ver gaat schoppen met je muziek !

I am no wino but I am no saint either. A medicine man should not be a saint. He should experience and feel all the ups and downs, the despair and joy, the magic and the reality, the courage and the fear. He should be able to sink as low as a bug, or soar as high as an eagle. Unless he can experience both, he is no good as a medicine man.

You cannot be so stuck up, so inhuman that you want to be pure, your soul wrapped up in a plastic bag, all the time. You have to be God and the devil, both of them.

Being a good medicine man means being right in the midst of the turmoil, not shielding yourself from it. It means experiencing life in all its phases. It means not being afraid of cutting up and playing the fool now and then. That is sacred too.

Een medicijnman staat met beide benen op de aarde en leeft. Zowell licht als schaduw zijn hem niet vreemd. Kennis opgedaan op zijn eigen pad, bij het helen van zijn eigen wonden, is wat hem in staat stelt om anderen te helpen.
