UK version of my eCookbook will drop next week
I am very excited to announce that we just finished translating my first recipe book for women with lipedema. At the end of last year, we launched the Dutch version. But now we are finally ready to share it with lipedema sisters all around the globe.
As a lipedema coach I firmly believe in supporting our body, which is under constant stress from the lipedema, with healthy and nutritious food. A body with lipedema suffers a lot from low-grade inflammation and has difficulty burning fat. I therefore specifically opt for a 🥑 plant-based diet with less fat, less inflammation and more energy for recovery.
Why proper nutrition is essential for women with lipedema? Well for me there are four main reasons why I advise my patients to adopt a Plant-Based diet:
Less inflammation, less pain
By choosing healthy plant-based food you prevent unnecessary inflammatory reactions in the body like we get from animal-based products. After all, a body with lipedema already has enough inflammation as it is.
Better recovery
By choosing fresh vegetables and fresh fruit - preferably organic - the body receives the optimal nutrition for recovery. Lipedema demands a lot from our body, so it is very important to take good care of it
Store less fat
Women with lipedema have difficulty burning fat. That is why the recipes in my book are low in fats and we get the energy from the carbohydrates (glucose) that we find in delicious fresh fruit, among other things.
More energy and a better mindset
A diet with an abundance of fruit not only gives you the physical energy you need to deal with this hampering disease, but also to optimally support you mentally.
