Deze post van Jeff Foster voelt zo kloppend! Het gaat er niet om dat mensen het met je eens moeten zijn. Het gaat erom dat je deelt wat er in je hart leeft, wat het je ook kost… ❤️
If I talk about Epstein, I lose followers.
If I don’t, I lose followers.
If I speak about Palestine, I lose followers.
If I don’t, I lose followers.
If I mention Trump, I lose followers.
If I criticise him, I lose followers.
If I don’t, I lose followers.
If I question spiritual gurus, I lose followers.
If I stay silent, I lose followers.
If I take a side, I lose followers.
If I refuse to take a side, I lose followers.
If I try to hold multiple perspectives and see the bigger picture, I lose followers.
If I don’t, I lose followers.
If I say what I truly feel, I lose followers.
If I hold back to keep everyone comfortable…
… I lose myself.
And I am unwilling to lose myself.
So here is the simple truth:
No matter what I say, some people will leave.
No matter what I don’t say, some people will leave.
I cannot build my life around avoiding loss.
I can only build it around integrity.
I’ll say that again:
*I cannot build my life around avoiding loss.
I can only build it around integrity.*
So sometimes I will share in public.
Sometimes I will share with family and close friends only.
Sometimes I will go into silence to process complexity.
Sometimes I will speak abstractly, poetically.
Sometimes I will engage with what is happening in the world.
Sometimes I will sink into contemplation.
Sometimes I will make art.
Sometimes I will comfort.
Sometimes I will protest.
Sometimes I will reflect.
Sometimes I will challenge.
Sometimes I will not address things in the way you want, or at the moment you want.
If the algorithm doesn’t favour the way I share, so be it.
If that costs me numbers, so be it.
Unfollow me if you need to.
Stay if what I share resonates.
Either way, I will always speak to you from my heart.
In my own way.
In my own time.
In my own unique voice.
Bless you all, and thank you.
❤️
