🎄 Samen sterk voor Oekraïne: KeepThemWarm & 3Delft 🎄
Bij 3Delft zijn we trots op onze samenwerking met KeepThemWarm, een prachtig studenteninitiatief dat zich inzet om burgers in Oekraïne te ondersteunen in tijden van oorlog. 💙💛
KeepThemWarm biedt hulp waar dat het hardst nodig is. Ze organiseren ritten naar de Pools-Oekraïense grens om humanitaire hulpgoederen af te leveren en vluchtelingen naar een veilige plek te brengen. Om deze acties te kunnen blijven voortzetten is geld hard nodig, maar helaas laat de realiteit zien dat gedurende de oorlog voortduurt de aandacht hiervoor verslapt en zo ook de donaties.
Daarom hebben KeepThemWarm en 3Delft de handen ineengeslagen! Er is een speciale kerstbal in de vorm van een kerstboom ontworpen en 3D-geprint. Deze kerstballen worden verkocht op kerstmarkten en online. De opbrengst hiervan gaat naar hulp voor Oekraïne. 🎁✨

After a year of hard work from Luuk, Sam and Jan it is time for a new generation to take over. This year Jeroen, Casper and Constantijn are looking forward to take 3Delft to a new level. Besides managing the existing business we are exited to explore new options like sharing our knowledge and form new alliances with companies in the form of exploiting our services on fairs and business events. Furthermore we want to keep up our high quality products and expend our possibilities in order to achieve great things together.

After a year of great work by Pieter, Thomas and Felix it’s time to introduce our new team of entrepreneurs! Luuk, Sam and Jan IJmte will spend the next year exploring the possibilities of 3D printing besides managing and developping a business. We want to congratulate them on their positions and wish them good luck in the following year.

Vanaf 1 september 2021 komen er drie (part-time) ondernemersplekken vrij bij 3Delft! Samen met twee andere enthousiaste studenten zul je een jaar lang enorm veel leren over alle aspecten van 3D-printen en ondernemen. Je krijgt geheel de vrijheid om te bepalen hoe je het bedrijf wil runnen, daarnaast zul je een beleid gaan schrijven waarin je je persoonlijke doelen verwerkt in een gezamelijke 3Delft doel. ERADICATING INSECTS WITH DRONES

Since the organic crop demand is rapidly growing, pesticides are less favorable to use against insects. A new automated solution has to take over from these pesticides. A Delft startup called PATS Drones solves this problem by using bat-like drones to automatically control insect populations.

PATS drones tackles the insect problem at its source. Their drones proactively hunt flying pest insects and eliminates them while in flight. The whole system is autonomously controlled by a base station. This base station intelligently scouts flying pest insects with a 360-degree vision system. When the target is acquired, the system sends a drone after the insect to eliminate it.

Components for this system, for example the base station, are manufactured with 3Delft by using 3D printers. A lean startup such as PATS Drones needs to rapidly prototype their innovative products and therefore fast and reliable production is crucial.

INNOVATING THE PATHOLOGY LAB OF REINIER DE GRAAF HOSPITAL

Over the past few months, 3Delft has been proudly working together with the pathology laboratory of Reinier de Graaf hospital in Delft. By making solutions for the transportation and storage of sampled tissues, the lab is now safer, user-friendlier and more efficient.

When sampled tissue needs to be examined, it is first received by the pathology lab to process the specimen for microscopic examination. These processed specimen need to be stored and transferred frequently whilst securely administrating its specifications. Our designers developed fitting solutions for the lab by closely communicating with the employees to truly understand the situation. Iterations can be made rapidly thanks to 3D printing. After finding the perfect design, the model is 3D printed in large quantities to quickly replace the old system.

Here at 3Delft, we love to contribute to such important research facilities. It is always a pleasure to learn from people with a specific field of expertise and to combine it with our own knowledge to eventually make an innovative result.

REVOLUTIONIZING GREENHOUSES WITH DATA AND ROBOTICS
As greenhouses keep on getting larger and larger, growers are facing more difficult challenges. Monitoring hectares of plants combined with controlling diseases and pests is highly labor intensive. Applied Drone Innovations B.V.
