Meet your new obsession: the Hot Chicken Sandwich. Packed with juicy chicken thighs, a sweet-spicy sauce, and all the flavor you need to turn dinner into a moment.
You’ll need:
• 4 flatbreads
• 500 g chicken thigh fillet, cut into pieces
• 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
• 60 g Callowfit Tomato Ketchup
• 60 g Callowfit Sweety Chili
• Salt & pepper, to taste
• 25 g brown caster sugar
• 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
• 1 tbsp sambal badjak (more if you like it hotter)
• 3 tbsp ketjap medja or manis (Ketjap Kaki Tiga recommended)
• 1 red pepper, sliced into rings
• Optional: fresh cilantro
• Optional serving tip: bean sprouts for crunch
How to make it:
1️⃣ In a bowl, mix the garlic, Tomato Ketchup, Sweety Chili, brown sugar, soy sauce, ketjap, and sambal.
2️⃣ Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
3️⃣ Heat oil in a wok or frying pan. Cook the chicken on medium heat until golden and cooked through.
4️⃣ Add the sauce mixture and a few tablespoons of water. Stir until it thickens slightly, then reduce the heat to keep warm.
5️⃣ Warm your flatbreads as instructed on the package, then cut them open.
6️⃣ Fill with the chicken, top with red pepper rings, fresh cilantro, and optional bean sprouts.
🥵 Spicy tip: add extra sambal if you dare.
🌮 Serving tip: double the sauce for extra messy goodness.
