A spin-off of Wetsus, HULO.ai develops advanced AI algorithms to tackle water loss, a critical global challenge.

By leveraging , HULO.ai minimizes the need for extensive physical infrastructure checks, reduces water loss and ultimately contributes to the conservation of one of our most precious natural resources. 💦

The capital will be used to enhance HULO.ai’s cloud-based solution, making it highly scalable. The startup is poised to expand into new markets, targeting regions where water scarcity and leakage are most critical.

Netherlands-based HULO.ai, a startup that develops advanced AI algorithms to tackle water loss, has secured €800K in a fresh round of funding from LUMO Labs

CityLegends has closed a seed funding round close to €1 million with a syndicate of investors, including LeanSquare, LUMO Labs, Imec.istart, DUTCH SPORT TECH FUND and industry expert and angel investor Matthieu De Clercq.

CityLegends is the largest community platform where urban athletes and artists can compete and meet others when, where and with whom they want.

The new funding allows the team to broaden its marketing efforts and user base across Western Europe and kick off its go-to-market strategy on the U.S. West Coast in partnership with urban sports brands.

"CityLegends is all about video-driven content, exploring new spots and connecting with others. We are building the world’s largest community based on the needs of our community," said CEO Jimmy Hermans.

📣 The good news just keeps pouring in! Today we announce LUMO Labs, through its TTT.AI Fund, ROM Utrecht Region and Utrecht Health Seed Fund are investing 900,000 euros in Cordys Analytics. 👏 🙌

The startup is a Dutch healthtech spin-out from the Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht (UMCU) and incubated at UtrechtInc.

Cordys Analytics’ AI-powered software platform for electrocardiogram analysis (AI-ECG software) offers a new and innovative solution to detect heart disease earlier and more accurately.

By harnessing the power of advanced deep-learning techniques, this software identifies subtle patterns and abnormalities in ECG data that traditional diagnostic methods often miss. The software supports healthcare professionals in making informed decisions and minimizing hospitalizations and complications associated with untreated heart conditions.

“Integrating the unequalled potential of in healthcare for early detection and prevention not only has a tremendous impact on the quality of life of individual patients, but it also contributes to a more sustainable, affordable healthcare system,” said Andy Lürling, Founding Partner at LUMO Labs. “Cordys’ software has these qualities and – because it is vendor-agnostic – these benefits can scale wide and far. LUMO Labs brought Scientific and Industry Advisory Board member Tom Furness to Eindhoven in June. It was a whirlwind tour of speaking engagements, starting at High Tech Campus Eindhoven with his presentation “The past, present and future of Virtual Reality.”

He also traveled to Utrecht for Dutch Health Week, where he gave a masterclass, followed by a podcast with hosts Jelle Drijver and Jos Hummelen.

Dubbed the “grandfather of VR,” everyone was eager to hear his thoughts on the limitless opportunities immersive technologies provide. (Spoiler alert: we should use VR on the path to transcendence.)

“If VR wants to become as common as traditional glasses, it must solve real problems,” said Tom. In an aging society, loneliness is such a problem. “Normally, the elderly in a nursing home are put on medication so that they do not become depressed or restless,” says Tom. “VR keeps the mind active. The elderly can engage in activities with family members while physically in a nursing home. A centenarian who first got acquainted with VR through us even told us: now I have a reason to live.”

The passionate, ambitious Team FruitPunch AI launched a new challenge: AI for Eagles, and they’re searching for people with programming skills and a passion for wildlife to join the challenge.

AI engineers from all skill levels are welcome to join this challenge to revolutionize eagle monitoring. The only hard requirement is that you know Python and basic machine learning.

For the inexperienced, there is a lot to learn from Masterclasses and your peers. For the professionals, FruitPunch AI helps you translate your efforts into valuable results to make a direct positive impact on wildlife conservation.

You will work together in sub-teams of 10 people to tackle the problem of detecting and classifying eagles in multiple classes, and you need to free up approximately 8 hours a week.
