HOLDING SPACE FOR YOUR YOGA & WELL-BEING PRACTICES

All of our classes are created to help you develop and grow into your own Yoga practice. We offer various styles of Yoga and rather than placing too much emphasis on the aesthetics of an Asana (pose), we lean more towards the fit and feel of the shape. This allows us to cater to the individual, as oppose to a “one shape fits all” kind of approach. When we allow ourselves to disregard the “image”, and rather opt for what it feels like, we allow ourselves to embark the enquiring journey. This creates room for us to adapt the shape to best cater for our own personal needs, (After all, no two bodies are the same) whether that means giving ourselves more space to deepen, easing off, adjusting or just being as we are. This nurtures the listening within – finding guidance from our intuition, and becoming more comfortable with trusting in our own abilities and what it is that we need in that exact moment. This is how I have learnt to approach my own personal practice, and to guide that of my students. After years of teaching, learning and observing it became more apparent to me that this is how we can create deeper, more fulfilling connections with ourselves, others and our surroundings. And ultimately delivering us a more fulfilling practice in general. Letting go of the mirror image and learning to explore what shines from within helps us to develop our intuition, inner trust and spiritual journey, thus raising our vibration, love, feelings of awe, and to finally, find ourselves worthy. Awakening our inner nature allows us to appreciate nature. Het is als thuiskomen, ongeacht waar ik mij ook fysiek bevind. Het is een ruimte waarin ik op authentieke wijze mijn diepste zelf kan uiten, een toestand waarin ik getuige kan zijn van alles wat ik denk dat ik ben en de oneindeige mogelijkheden kan omarmen van wat zou kunnen zijn! Ik kom uit Nieuw- Zeeland - The land of the long white cloud, zo zeggen we dat daar, maar nu bevind ik mezelf in Enschede. Heel wat anders natuurlijk en een nieuw hoofdstuk van mijn leven is begonnen. Ik mag ik mezelf sinds 2009 Yoga docent noemen. Ik heb op The School of Natural Therapies in Auckland Yoga en Ayurveda gestudeerd. In NZ had ik mijn eigen Yoga school maar die heb ik inmiddels vaarwel gezegd en begin hier in Enschede opnieuw. Dat is soms zeker een uitdaging maar ook wel een avontuur! Ik hou ervan om in elke les die ik aanbied een balans van Yin, Yang, meditatie, natuur en filosofie te integreren. Ik heb over de jaren mijn kennis op het gebied van Yoga en vele vormen van natuurlijk genezing blijven uitbreiden. Ik ben stiekem volledig gefacineerd met kruidengeneeskunde (daarom heb ik thuis ook een kleine apothekerstuin aangelegd). Elke keer dat ik op de mat kom, om les te geven of om te oefenen, is het anders. I hou van het idee dat Yoga een anker kan zijn. Vanuit dit anker kunnen we onze innerlijke impulsen verkennen en bewegen, ademen en randen verkennen. Het volledig belichamen van heelheid is voeding die vreugde schenkt aan onszelf en aan anderen. Dagelijkse meditatie, tuineren, wandelentochten en schrijven zijn voor mij allemaal vormen van het vieren van het leven. Als ik niet aan het lesgeven ben, kun je mij buiten in mijn tuin vinden, lezend, genietend van een pot kruidenthee of in contact met mijn liefdevolle kring mensen. The word Yoga means so much to me. It is a coming home, regardless of where I find myself physically. It is a space I can authentically express my deepest self, a state I get to witness all that I think I am and embrace the infinite possibilities of what could be! I have been a Yoga teacher since 2009. I love to imbue a balance of Yin, Yang, meditation, nature and yoga philosophy into each offering. I have been continuing to expand my knowledge on the subject of Yoga and many forms of natural healing and I am completely fascinated by herbal healing medicine which is why I have created my own little apothecary garden at home. Each time I come to the mat, to teach or to practise, it’s different. I like the idea of Yoga being an anchor. From this anchor we can explore our inner impulses and move, breathe and explore edges. Fully embodying wholeness is nourishment that brings joy to ourself and to others. Daily meditation, gardening, walking adventures and writing are all forms of celebrating life for me. When I am not teaching you can find me outside in my garden, reading, enjoying a pot of herbal tea or connecting with my loving circle of people.

🌕❄️ The Cold Moon Is Returning — And This One Won’t Happen Again for 18.6 Years ✨

This week, the Moon is about to put on a show unlike anything we’ve seen since 2006 — a spectacle that won’t return until 2043. The final supermoon of 2025 is also a major lunar standstill, the same rare celestial event ancient builders aligned Stonehenge to track.

During a lunar standstill, the Moon reaches the most extreme positions in its 18.6-year cycle. And because this one aligns with a supermoon, the effect is extraordinary. The Moon will be 17,000 miles closer, making it appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a typical full moon.

🌍 What You'll See:
⬆️ Northern Hemisphere: The Moon will climb unusually high in the sky, far beyond its typical winter arc.
⬇️ Southern Hemisphere: It will hang low and golden, glowing near the horizon like a lantern suspended over the Earth.

Astronomers are calling it the most extreme full moon until 2042, a moment where orbital mechanics and ancient skywatching traditions collide in breathtaking fashion.

Extended Tadasana - Mountain pose
Is empowering and grounding. It increases awareness of your mind/body connection and enhances your ability to be mindful and present – key for boosting your mood.

Dear friends,

Stand in your power, align with the Universe and embrace abundance. Release all past beliefs that have been holding you back, no longer serve, or align with you.
Abundance is not something you need to wait to happen, it is already within you. All you need to do is be open to it.
Trust in the process.

This is the perfect feel-good pose to literally stand in your power and connect to your deep, conscious breathing (another sure-fire way to boost your mood). Mountain Pose helps calm the nervous system and control our fight or flight response so we can get back to zen.
There is no time like the present so..
Let’s try it:

Begin standing with your feet together or about hip-distance apart and a micro bend in the knees
Press your big toes and all four corners of your feet firmly into the mat to help your body feel grounded and stable
Use your inhale breath to raise your arms overhead, spread your fingers.
Slightly scoop your pelvis forward and imagine your ribcage is wrapping around you, giving your insides a hug
Rotate your thighs inward and engage your core (there’s a lot going on in this pose!)
Breathe deeply and slowly to keep your calm sense of stability, grounding, and presence
(You may like to turn this into more of a balance stance by elivating the heels as you inhale, hold, and exhale to come back down.)
Drop your shoulders, open your heart and smile 🙂

Blessings dear one,

Welcome to another week of Yoga with me.

I am excited to guide you through a series of positive practices that will help you align with your deepest desires and manifest the life of your dreams. These practices are like seeds planted in the soil of your body, mind and soul, they grow into the reality you envision.

Yoga practices to close your day with and welcome in the evening.

We are often so in our heads and all consumed by what we need to do, where we need to be, living in the future. Juggling so many balls at once, pushing ourselves too much, crossing over our personal boundaries, serving others, whether that be in work or our personal lives, we tend to neglect the here and now and our own personal needs. We forget to tune into ourselves, and if we do we only give ourselves a minimal amount of time to do so.

By looking after ourselves we can take care of our own personal needs and healing. This can be very reassuring for others who care about us too. For them to know we are serving ourselves in the best possible way, diet, exercise, rest, environment etc, means that they don't have to worry about us. So it has a positive effect on us and them, and perhaps it may even inspire them too.

Let us let all of the balls that we have been juggling lately fall to the ground, leave them there for a bit, no guilt, just leave them be.... it's time for you now.

Here comes another week of beautiful Yoga. Living life to our fullest because we know how to look after our insides and out and fully trust in the process.
Join us for another week of delicious practices to enhance your health and life.

Repeat these affirmations daily, with conviction and belief.

Embrace the journey, trust in your power, and watch as the universe conspires to make your dreams a reality.

Water kan heel rustig zijn, denk aan een meertje in het bos, maar ook heel krachtig, denk aan een tsunami of neerstortend water bij een waterval. Deze rust of kracht zitten ook in ons.
Water behoudt altijd zijn kern, welke vorm het ook aanneemt. Het kan zowel waterdamp als ijs zijn, Yang of Yin, maar de kern is altijd hetzelfde, het zal altijd terugkeren als water.

In onze lessen speelt water altijd een rol, bewegen en stilte, energetisch en rustig.
Sluit jouw ogen, en luister naar de adem. Daar kun je de golven van de zee in horen. Water is altijd aanwezig.

Blessings and beautiful New Year's vibes to you, my friend.

Welcome back to our Yoga classes. Maybe you've been going at a slower pace post Christmas, it's January afterall, and that's quite understandable, I know I have been. So let's ease ourselves back into practice, gently...Taking things gently, but always the option to challenge yourself whenever you feel is right. Listening to your inner voice is key to a personal practice, providing more depth and meaning.

I always strive to provide you with the best of what I can give in the very moment, being present and listening to what energetically comes to me. When I walk into aclass, I feel the energy/the vibration of the students. I do the exact same thing when I teach online too. I feel you. It may sound crazy or too out there but this is how I am and how I teach.

I am so pleased that you are here with us for our Yoga, whether you're just joiing or have been with us for a while now, and I want you to know I certainly feel your magical energy. Should you ever have any questions, ideas, or be uncertain about anything regarding our Yoga etc, please know that I am here for you and want to help.

Now let's prepare for another week of beautiful Yoga. Living life to our fullest because we know how to look after our insides and out and fully trust in the process.
