Kinders is lief wees vir stories, óf dit nou ’n magiese sprokie is, óf ’n spannende dinosaurus verhaal, stories sal altyd ’n kind se aandag trek.

Boeke en stories kan gebruik word om soveel verskillende vaardighede te ontwikkel, van perseptuele en kognitiewe vaardighede tot fyn motoriek. Dit is ook ’n wonderlike manier om te kommunikeer of moeilike konsepte te verduidelik. Deur saam met jou kind te lees stimuleer jy nie net allerhande vaardighede nie, maar as ’n bonus, bou dit aan jul verhouding en verbintenis.

While visiting Kopbeenskloof in South Africa, we had the wonderful opportunity to learn about nature, colours, textures, smells and so much more by spending time in a field filled with proteas.

Interesting fact: For those who didn't know, the King Protea is the national flower of South Africa.

Allow yourself to FEEL the rain...

Life is so busy, filled with deadlines and timeframes. With the change of the season comes increased rain showers, and to be honest this makes me want to finish outdoor activities even faster - or sometimes even skip them.

BUT, when I do allow myself to feel the rain, I don't only create a wonderful learning opportunity for my children, but an inspiring feeling - a sense of self awareness and freedom to let go and just be.
