Aanstaande vrijdag geeft Lara, vooral bekend als Blue, de yoga les. Hieronder stelt ze zich aan jullie voor:
Hi there! Everybody calls me Blue, I’m the newest addition to the Mindful Movements team, and I’ll be telling you a little bit about my yoga story.
My personal practice has been ongoing for about ten years now, and what started as play and body awareness cultivated by my parents, eventually turned into a real passion for movement. Joint pains that began to make most of the activities I loved impossible, lead me into the more mechanical and therapeutic aspects of yoga. It is this focus on muscle imbalances, joint pains, and other limitations that I have carried into my teaching. My classes are slow, sweaty and internal, and aim to give you a better understanding of the daily postures you take and the limitations or pains these might be causing you. Remember, your practice doesn’t have to stop at the mat!
I officially became certified in 2018 at a Multi-Style Yoga Teacher Training. This training focused not only on the traditional aspects of yoga, as taught by our Ashtanga teacher, but also the more modern combinations of yogic forms for therapeutic and rehabilitation purposes. These were taught by another intensely knowledgably, but more anatomically and medically based teacher. This was all balance by the kindly Indian man who runs this program and who taught us about Yogic meditation, philosophy, and tradition. It was exactly this well-rounded approach for which I chose the program.
So whether its for those aches in your back, a better sense of balance, or just a good sweat session, come join me every first Friday of the month at 19:00h at our lovely Gropo location. Let’s flow, enjoy some sunsets, and get body-smart!
