While Courtney and Carly are away visiting family, Peter will be in the office on December 24, 29, and 31 to continue supporting you.

15 years ago today, I graduated chiropractic school. 🎓

The new grad in this photo could never have imagined the path this profession would take her on:
2 Business startups, in Denver and Haarlem
2 Years as President of the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council
1 The World Games event in China

What began as a career has grown into something far more meaningful. This work challenges me, fulfills me, and connects me to people. It has shown me the power of presence, hands on care, and truly understanding the person in front of me. I never feel bored, and as a constant student of the human body, there is always something new to learn.

I am proud of the care I provide and deeply grateful for the trust you place in me. This work gives my life purpose, and I truly have the best job in the world thanks to my incredible patients here in the Haarlem community.

And with every year that passes, my love for this profession deepens. 🙏✨

Raising your arms shouldn’t mean arching your back.

This exercise helps your body maintain good posture while moving overhead, which is something we do constantly in daily life. 🧠🏃‍♀️

Key cues:
🧍‍♀️Stand tall 🧍‍♀️
🧍‍♀️Control the ribs
🧍‍♀️Keep the spine neutral
🧍‍♀️Move slowly and with intention

Repeat 10 times ✅ focusing on quality over speed.

This week our team took time to adjust each other, while sharing techniques, learning from one another, and staying sharp for the patients we care for every day.

this exercise is gold for creating space in the low back and improving posture.

Wouter and I both love it for nearly everyone who sits, stands, works at the computer, sports… basically all of us 😄

👇 Instructions:
✔️ Hold the posture for 10 seconds
✔️ Relax
✔️ Repeat 5 times
✔️ Build up to 45–60 seconds over time

I just finished reading Finding Their Feet, and the final line is still sitting with me:

“To touch is to be touched.” 💛

The author was talking about baby massage and how the experience nourishes both the baby and the parent.
But I felt it so deeply in the work we do as chiropractic.

Every day at The Movement Recipe, we place our hands on people and help their bodies move, breathe and heal.

And what many people do not see is how much we receive in return.

Your trust.
Your stories.
Your journeys through healing.
Your willingness to show up, even when life feels heavy.

All of it touches us.
All of it stays with us.
All of it makes this work meaningful in the deepest way. ✨

If you are a parent, I highly recommend Finding Their Feet. It is a beautiful guide to how your baby develops and why natural movement and barefoot feet matter so much. 👣
