How those shoes look by the time they have to retire. Completely ruines by paint, walked completely flat - usually also almost falling apart on the edges.

And all of that within a timespan of no more then 9-12 months. This image… these shoes… they show a bit how tough the muralist business is regarding materials and what they have to endure.

Sinds 2011 rapen we in Heerlen het erfgoed letterlijk van de straat. Het overlijden van pionier Nash in 2024 maakte pijnlijk duidelijk dat er nog grote hiaten in ons archief zitten. Als we dit nu niet vastleggen, zijn we het straks voor altijd kwijt.

Gisteravond organiseerde Sanne Rompen-Gijsbers een eerste uitverkochte bijeenkomst over het graffiti-erfgoed van Heerlen. Dankzij de verhalen van James Jetlag, Dazetwo, Marcus Gomad Debie en Michel Lemaire hebben we weer nieuwe verhalen, inzichten en context kunnen toevoegen aan het groeiende archief.

Kom even langs als je toch in de buurt bent!

Op 4 december 2025 organiseren we in Heerlywood (Parallelweg 2A in Heerlen) de eerste graffiti erfgoed bijeenkomst. We duiken samen met Sanne Rompen-Gijsbers, Martin Plag (James Jetlag), Marcus Gomad Debie, Dazetwo en Michel Lemaire in de graffiti-geschiedenis van begin jaren ’80 tot 2005 in de regio Parkstad. Daarnaast vertonen we de film Nash van graffiti-legende Werner Zwakhalen.

:: Face The Problem ::

I have painted this work for the annual in Geldern Germany : a truly amazing mural and graffiti festival with the contribution of many very talented international graffiti artists, organised by my dear colleague 🙏🏻

This is yet another work in my ‘Manifestation Series’ in which I make works where I try to visualise thought processes and ways how our mind blends with the reality we exist in.

This one is a fierce respons of mine to current developments in our society, where a majority jumps up to accuse half of the population to be responsible for terrible acts of violence, while the facts show that only a very, very small minority of a certain group of men with a certain background of traumatic violent experiences themselves, are responsible for these deeds. It’s disgusting what is happening. It’s hypocrisy thru the roof. It is the mass hysteria of people who stare blindfolded in one direction while being completely indoctrinated by mass-media propaganda, dismissing the real facts that matter and in which the actual solution to face these problems, lies.

FACE THE PROBLEM is my message to all of you. Stop hiding behind false flags. Unravel the truth, step through the gap and Face The Problem!
