Mother Nature 🌍✨An homage to the primal force that creates, shapes, and sustains life.This unique glass sculpture contains tiger iron, one of the oldest known rocks on Earth, formed between 3 and 1.8 billion years ago in South Africa and Australia. The striking layers — Banded Iron Formations — hold traces of Earth’s first oxygen: a tangible echo of life’s beginning.The glass is meticulously hand-cut and cold-worked, with beveled edges and sharp angles that capture and play with light. A labor of love — where nature, time, and craftsmanship converge.Nature is at the heart of my work. With Mother Nature, I hope to draw attention to her power, her wisdom, and the importance of honoring and protecting her.🌿 Glass meets stone. Ancient meets contemporary. Art as a bridge between deep time and present awareness.

Half a year ago I started to realize one of my new ideas. My love lies with nature and would like to bring this back into my own glass art works. After a low period of testing it's time I'm working on the art line back to pure nature. In these works I work with 20 million years old petrified wood and glass combined into unique works of art.

Petrified wood is created when trees end up under a layer of volcanic ash. The ash contains all kinds of minerals that dissolve in the groundwater. Because the wood does not come into contact with oxygen, it does not rot as quickly as normal. Eventually the wood will rot anyway, and the minerals will take place in the wood cells. Because this process takes place slowly, the structure of the wood is perfectly preserved. The annual rings in petrified wood are therefore excellent to see.
