In de serie โ€˜Time Travel Thursdayโ€™ nemen we je mee in de verhalen van AAE. In deze editie focussen we op het verleden, de verhuizing van Grauel en de uitbreiding van Grasbeemd 2 door middel van de bouw van een cleanroom.

In het jaar 2000 zette AAE namelijk een belangrijke stap in haar ontwikkeling. De machinebouwactiviteiten voor bedrukkingsmachines werden overgebracht van Grauel GmbH naar Grauel International in Helmond, waarmee de aanwezigheid en expertise in de regio verder werden versterkt.

Tegelijkertijd investeerde AAE in de toekomst door het pand aan de Grasbeemd uit te breiden met een geavanceerde cleanroom. Deze uitbreiding markeerde een cruciaal keerpunt: het vormde de basis voor de overgang naar hightech en precisieproductie, die tot op de dag van vandaag kenmerkend is voor onze organisatie.

In the โ€˜Time Travel Thursdayโ€™ series, we take you through the stories of AAE. In this edition, we focus on the past: the relocation of Grauel and the expansion of Grasbeemd 2 through the construction of a cleanroom.

In the year 2000, AAE took an important step in its development. The machine-building activities for printing machines were transferred from Grauel GmbH to Grauel International in Helmond, further strengthening the companyโ€™s presence and expertise in the region.

At the same time, AAE invested in the future by expanding the Grasbeemd facility with an advanced cleanroom. This expansion marked a crucial turning point: it laid the foundation for the transition to high-tech and precision manufacturing, which continues to define our organization to this day.

Tijdens onze laatste Infinity Table, met als thema โ€˜iftar,โ€™ kwamen collegaโ€™s met verschillende culturele achtergronden samen om elkaar echt te leren kennen. Onder begeleiding van hosts Mohamed Yahia en Manon Pijnenburg ontstonden open gesprekken. Niet over werk, maar over wie we zijn, wat ons drijft en wat ons verbindt.

De keuze voor het thema iftar een bewuste. Ramadan is een periode van bezinning, dankbaarheid en bewust leven. Het moment waarop het vasten wordt verbroken, staat symbool voor samenkomen, delen en verbinding. Juist dat gevoel stond deze avond centraal.

We kijken terug op een warme en inspirerende bijeenkomst, waarin openheid en oprechte interesse de boventoon voerden. Dank aan alle collegaโ€™s die hun verhalen hebben gedeeld. Een mooi voorbeeld van onze cultuurwaarde โ€˜togetherโ€™. ๐Ÿ’š

During our latest Infinity Table, themed โ€˜iftar,โ€™ colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds came together to truly get to know one another. Guided by hosts Mohamed Yahia and Manon Pijnenburg, open conversations emerged. Not about work, but about who we are, what drives us, and what connects us.

The choice of the iftar theme was deliberate. Ramadan is a period of reflection, gratitude, and mindful living. The moment when the fast is broken symbolizes coming together, sharing, and connection. That very feeling was at the heart of the evening.

But today, during the National Cleanup Day organized by 'verpact', weโ€™re giving this extra attention.

Gisteren kwamen we met zoโ€™n 250 AAEโ€™ers en hun introducees samen in het Speelhuis in Helmond. Dit keer voor een bijzonder โ€˜+1 eventโ€™.

Een middag die draaide om verbinding, inspiratie en het delen van perspectieven. Want op het podium stond niemand minder dan de wereldberoemde fotograaf Jimmy Nelson. Hij nam ons mee in zijn indrukwekkende verhaal.

Een verhaal over reizen, over passie, over mensen. Over het vastleggen van culturen in hun puurste vorm en het zien van schoonheid in diversiteit. Geen vaste take-away, maar juist de ruimte voor ieders eigen interpretatie. Want cultuur laat zich niet vangen in รฉรฉn definitie. Het is iets dat we allemaal anders beleven. Gevormd door onze eigen achtergrond, ervaringen en blik op de wereld. Misschien is dat ook precies wat Jimmy ons liet voelen.

Na afloop was er tijd om samen na te praten tijdens een gezellige borrel. Een mooie afsluiting van een middag die nog lang zal blijven hangen.

Yesterday, around 250 AAE colleagues and their guests came together at Het Speelhuis in Helmond for a special โ€˜+1 eventโ€™.

An afternoon centered around connection, inspiration and the sharing of perspectives. On stage was none other than world-renowned photographer Jimmy Nelson. Yesterday he took us along on his remarkable journey.

A story about travel, about passion, about people. About capturing cultures in their purest form and recognizing the beauty in diversity. There was no single takeaway, rather, space for everyoneโ€™s own interpretation. Because culture cannot be captured in a single definition. It is something we all experience differently, shaped by our backgrounds, experiences and the way we see the world. Perhaps that is exactly what Jimmy made us feel.

Afterwards, we had the opportunity to connect and reflect during a relaxed gathering. A wonderful way to close an inspiring afternoon that will stay with us for a long time.

Afgelopen week kregen we bijzonder bezoek bij AAE: de leerlingen van uit Helmond.

Waarom zij bij ons langskwamen? Daar zit een leuk verhaal achter. Herinneren jullie je onze Sinterklaaswinactie nog? Eรฉn van de leerlingen van OBS โ€™t Hout deed mee aan deze actie. Uit meer dan 60 inzendingen werd hij als winnaar gekozen en won daarmee een exclusieve tour bij AAE voor zijn hele klas.

En zo geschiedde! Samen met onze AAEโ€™ers ontdekten de leerlingen de wereld van techniek binnen onze Key Technologies-afdeling. Ze zagen grote machines en autonome robots in actie, kregen een kijkje in productie op microniveau en bezochten onze R&D-labs. Voor veel van hen was het een indrukwekkende eerste kennismaking met hightech. ๐Ÿฆพ

Het blijft inspirerend om jonge mensen al vroeg kennis te laten maken met techniek. Door ze letterlijk een kijkje achter de schermen te geven, laten we zien hoeveel mogelijkheden er zijn. Wie weet hebben we hiermee wel de eerste stap gezet richting het opleiden van een nieuwe generatie denkers en doeners. ๐Ÿ’š

Last week we had some special visitors at AAE: the students of OBS โ€™t Hout from Helmond.

Why were they visiting us? Thereโ€™s a nice story behind it. Do you remember our Sinterklaas giveaway? One of the students from OBS โ€™t Hout participated in this campaign. Out of more than 60 entries, he was selected as the winner, earning an exclusive tour at AAE for his entire class.

And so it happened! Together with our AAE colleagues, the students explored the world of technology within our Key Technologies department. They saw large machines and autonomous robots in action, got a glimpse of production at micro-level, and visited our R&D labs. For many of them, it was an impressive first introduction to hightech. ๐Ÿฆพ

It remains inspiring to introduce young people to technology at an early age. By giving them a real behind-the-scenes look, we can show them just how many possibilities there are. Who knows, this might even be the first step toward inspiring a new generation of minds and makers. ๐Ÿ’š

De afgelopen weken was het team in Turkije voor meerdere regionals van de FIRST Robotics Competition, met รฉรฉn doel: kwalificatie voor het wereldkampioenschap in Houston.

In Istanbul eindigde knap als 2e en wonnen ze daarnaast de Quality Award. Een indrukwekkende start van hun internationale campagne.

Maar daar bleef het niet bij. Tijdens de regional in Yeditepe wist het team zelfs de overwinning te pakken en ontvingen ze de Excellence in Engineering Award. Met deze fantastische prestatie hebben ze zich officieel gekwalificeerd voor het WK in Houston! ๐Ÿ†

Alsof dat nog niet genoeg is, staat Team Rembrandts nu #10 van de wereld, uit maar liefst 3766 teams. Een ongelooflijke prestatie waar wij enorm trots op zijn.

Namens AAE feliciteren we het hele team met dit succes en wensen we jullie alle goeds met de voorbereidingen richting het wereldkampioenschap!

Over the past few weeks, the team has been in Turkey competing in several regionals of the FIRST Robotics Competition, with one clear goal: qualifying for the world championship in Houston.

In Istanbul, finished an impressive 2nd place and also received the Quality Award, a strong start to their international campaign.

But they didnโ€™t stop there. During the Yeditepe regional, the team went on to win the event and was awarded the Excellence in Engineering Award. With this fantastic performance, they have officially secured their spot at the world championship in Houston! ๐Ÿ†

As if that wasnโ€™t impressive enough, Team Rembrandts is now ranked #10 in the world out of 3,766 teams, an incredible accomplishment that we are extremely proud of.
