Heart disease detection improved by new CineECG technology!

In our latest blog we focus on using CineECG to make the detection of an extensive anterior wall infarction easier and better than by using a classic 12 lead ECG output. These type of heart infarcts are not always easy to detect from 12-lead ECG and postponement of diagnosis from using other diagnostic technologies or just missing the correct interpretation may result in irreversible heart tissue damage and high diagnostic costs.

The case:identifying a heart infarct, in particular an infarct in the front part of the heart (extensive anterior wall infarction).

Last week we had the privilege to present CineECG at the Dräper Silicon Spring Pitch event organized by Lumolabs in Eindhoven. It was great event and being able to tell the audience about the latests results in diagnostics with CineECG is great!

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!
Congratulations to Iris van der Schaaf of UMCU for winning the prestigious Jos Willems early career investigator award at the 47th annual conference of ISCE in Palm Springs (CA). Iris presented the results of working with CineECG in identifying early signs of Ischemia from 12 lead ECG. And her competition in this award contest was fierce and impressive.
And her intermediate conclusion is YES, we can because Iris has demonstrated CineECG is very sensitive in showing changes against normal ECGS in case of coronary artery obstruction even when changes in ST amplitudes are small or even too small to notice in a regular 12 lead ECG.
CineECG can really help ER departments and other first line physicians in identifying cardiac disorders in unclear ECG’s without having to wait for additional data.
We are very proud and want to take this opportunity to thank Peter van Dam, Ton Gorgels, Manon Kloosterman, UMCU, Eureka and the Dutch Heart Foundation for supporting the research conducted by Iris. One of our earlier blogs (https://cineecg.com/blogs/ischemic-changes-during-ventricular-activation) gives more insight into the work of Iris if you want to learn more.

What a nice article on ECG-Excellence in the Rabo & Co magazine which is send to all account holders of the leading Dutch Rabobank. Last year our company ECG Excellence won the national Rabobank Innovation award and for this year competition we were interviewed on our break out solutions for heart disease detection from 12 lead ECG. The article is in Dutch but more information on CineECG can be found on the CineECG website. But what made me really proud is to notice an invention by my father-in-law Jaap Lestraden featured in the same magazine. On the large photo on pages 12 and 13 a greenhouse is shown and right in the middle is this small box hanging from the ‘ceiling structure’. This box is a sulphur evaporator which helps to get rid of mildew in the most friendly manner. Invented over 60 years ago and still delivering added value all over the world. Just seeing this product delivering what is was intended for inspires me again to be part of a team which is developing heart disease detection solutions which will hopefully also remain effective over the coming decades.

We are too late to qualify for this years Oscar nominations, but boy are we proud of this new animated CineECG introduction video. Well done Rob Mientjes and the rest of the Refreshworks team. 12 lead ECG interpretation this way is so much easier and sensitive in the ‘hidden’ parts of the ECG.

Congrats to Peter van Dam for the great interview with Anthony Kashou M.D. for the Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular series Making Waves. Introducing CineECG and a breakout solution for ECG interpretation is always an honor and the positive response from Kashou is great. More information on CineECG can be found on https;//www.cineecg.com. Including free trials for medical professionals

As of today our new Delta map view on 12-lead ECG waveforms is supported by a great article published in the 76 edition of the Journal of Electrocardiology. The ΔWaveECG can distinguish the abnormal from normal ECG waveform segments, making the ECG easier to classify as normal or abnormal. Conduction disorders and ST changes due to ischemia and abnormal T-waves are effortless to detect, also by non-ECG expert readers, thus improving the early detection of cardiac patients.

We are honored to be named as a key emerging technology for heart disease detection. In a recent published podcast Anthony Kashou MD from Mayo Clinic talks with Dr. Salah Al-Zaiti from UMPC on this studies on emerging technologies to improve Ischemia Detection. And CineECG is especially highlighted as the smart solution to make ECG interpretation so much easier. The burden of proof which supports the added value of CineECG is growing each day and we are more than grateful for all the work you have already spent of applying CineECG to detect Acute Coronary Syndrome / Ischemia. The conduction pathway as visualized by CineECG and the comparison with healthy persons ECGs normal support physicians in not only distinguishing between normal and abnormal ECGs but also support early identification of ischemic area’s in the heart.
From the CineECG team we look forward to continue the collaboration and support physicians in making Heart Disorder detection easier and better.

Congrats to our Team! We have been declared one the top 100 most innovative companies in The Netherlands in the annual Dutch Chamber of Commerce overview. A big thank you to the evaluators of the KVK Innovatie Top 100. And a loud applause to the other 99 innovators on this years list. Moving the Dutch (1911 Professor Willem Einthoven) invention of the Electrocardiogram into the digital age and helping doctors and patients in early and better detection of heart diseases is an honor and every day motivation! There’s more to see in the ECG.

The female heart is different. This wisdom is a growing factor in today’s cardiology practice. Our research has demonstrated there’s a significant difference in the normal for male and female ECG amplitudes. In our latest blog we focus on the gender-related heart differences and how to see this early stage. https://cineecg.com/blogs/female-heart-is-different

Join ECG Excellence at the U.S. early stage Startup Showcase on September 21! The first session will kick off at 10:00 AM ET and will run throughout the day. This is a virtual event where you’ll get to see us pitch to solve the problem of 12 lead ECG waveform interpretation to detect 'hidden' heart diseases. New this year, attendees will get the chance to vote for the 5 finalists who will compete for MassChallenge’s Community Choice Award – a $25K zero-equity cash prize. We look forward to celebrating the completion of this year’s program with you and the 200+ cohort members! Register here to attend: https://cvent.me/rDPdaV

The new CineECG newsletter is out!
“I believe that rather than focusing solely on deep learning methods, we should also concentrate on extracting new features. And CineECG, with its novel approach to the space dimension of the ECG, is certainly the way to go.” These are the words of Professor Fabio Badilini, an icon in the world of ECG interpretation. You can find an interview with prof. Badilini is in our latest newsletter on CineECG which can now be downloaded via this link:https://cineecg.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/CineECG-Newsletter-1-V4.pdf
Besides the interview with Prof. Badilini the newsletter also contains information on a new view to the ECG graph which we have introduced recently. This delta map view makes ECG interpretation really easy for first line cardiac triage.
