Het DynaMORE onderzoek vindt plaatst op vijf locaties.

After a lot of preparation, many tests and a delay caused by the pandemic, we can finally announce that we’ve started our originally planned study!

Five facilities from four different countries, dozens of scientists working together to learn about resilience and stress - that’s what makes DynaMORE. We have a long way to go now, but we are spending all our energy on making sure that everything goes according to plan!

Sophie Bögemann is PhD-student at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
Sophie has obtained Master degrees in Neuroscience & Neuroimaging and Biomedical Sciences and a Bachelor degree in Psychobiology. Her research interests are within the field of neuroimaging.
As a part of the DynaMORE team, Sophie collects empirical data for our two multicentre studies. In her free time, she enjoys sports, horse riding and spending time with friends.

🔹Hi Sophie, as the further COVID-related measures are being eased, maybe we could reflect back on your lockdown experiences?
🔸Sure, let’s do it!

🔹What did make you happy during this challenging time?
🔸The small things, being able to spend more time with my family, my dog, and my horses.

🔹Did you discover any new hobbies during the lockdown?
🔸I bought a race bike and started biking! It is so much fun, and it is a great way to explore nature. Especially when the sun is out, absolutely lovely!

🔹Could you give a piece of adivce to people who still need to work from home?
🔸Remember to go outside. It might be tempting to spend most of your day at your desk or being productive in any other way. However, going outside can really free your mind and give you space to reflect about the situation.
🔹Many thanks, have a nice day!

Erno Hermans is an Associate Professor at Radboud University Medical Center and Principal Investigator at Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (SKU).
Erno Hermans obtained a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at Utrecht University in 2006.
His main research interest is how the human brain adapts to stressful situations, both immediately and in the long run. The ultimate goal of this is to improve treatment and prevention of stress-related disorders.

As a part of DynaMORE team Erno Hermans leads the work package that develops methodology for integrated real-life measures of subjective experience and physiological stress reactivity using smartphones and smartwatches.

🔹Hi Erno, could I ask you a few questions about your experiences with the coronavirus? What did you learn about yourself during coronavirus outbreak?
🔸In addition to new kinds of worries, I also felt some relief. Hence, I learned there are too many obligations in “normal” life.

🔹Have you experienced any unexpected benefits coming from the lockdown?
🔸One of the positive consequences of the lockdown was that I got to spend much more time with my children than usual. Although combining home work with children can be a challenge, It was only now that I realized how much time I normally miss with them because of travel, commuting, meetings, etc. This period is one that they will remember for the rest of their lives, and I am happy that we spent it close together.

🔹How do you take care of your well-being during pandemic?
🔸I try to exercise more than usual. I regularly run with a small group of friends, what keeps me both physically and mentally healthy.

🔹Do you already have travel plans for the future?
🔸I had planned to travel to China in November to visit a couple of cities - I really hope this will still work out!

🔹Many thanks for your time Erno!
