Ik hoef het niet met je eens te zijn, maar ik zal tot mijn laatste adem jouw recht verdedigen om te spreken.
Geweld is nooit het antwoord. Het lost niets op, het maakt alleen maar meer pijn.Zoek een andere weg. Kom samen. Breek brood. Luister รฉcht, ook naar wat tussen de woorden beweegt: verdriet, hoop, woede, verlangen.Leg je wapens neer. Luister met heel je hart, zelfs als je vreest, je boos bent, of het oneens bent. Vooral dan.Want ook zij zijn jij, een deel van jezelf dat nog niet thuis is.Eer hun stem, verdedig die, want in hun stem bescherm je ook die van jezelf.Als het stof neerdaalt, zie je: er was nooit een vijand, alleen jij, roepend naar je ware zelf.

I tell you this: Violence is never the answer. Violence will never heal you. It will never resolve your deepest pain. It will only deepen your wounding and drive you further from one another and further from yourself.
Find another way. Sit together as kin. Break bread. Listen - not only to the words spoken, but to the trembling beneath them, the grief, the longing, the hope, the anger, the pain. Soften. Open. Discover the ground you already share.
Lay down your weapons. Lay down the urge to strike, to silence, to destroy. Listen with your whole heart. Listen even when you feel attacked. Listen even when you disagree, when anger burns in your chest, when fear grips you, when you are outraged by anotherโs opinion. Especially then.
Remember: they are consciousness too, the same consciousness as you, clothed in a form you do not yet understand. A part of yourself not yet welcomed home.
Even the ones you resist, even the ones whose ideas you despise, they carry the spark of life within them. Honour their right to speak. Defend their right to speak. For in defending their voice, you defend your own.
And when the dust settles, you will see: there was never an enemy here at all. Only yourself, calling you home in a thousand disguises.
