It’s a wrap! 🌊📘
The English edition of Yoga For Surfers is finished.
Besides being the owner of Yogastudio Ouddorp, I'm also the author of the Yoga For Surfers book.
After the first Dutch edition, I knew I had to translate this book into English. Over the past few years, while traveling for yoga retreats and surf trips, it felt a little silly showing the Dutch version. Surfers would pick it up, smile, and always ask the same question: “This looks amazing… do you have it in English?”
My answer was always the same: I’m working on it!”
And now — finally — it’s here. And I couldn’t be happier.
For the past 25 years, yoga has been my life and passion. As a yoga teacher, studio owner, and lifelong water sports enthusiast, I honestly can’t imagine my life without yoga anymore. How would I get onto my surfboard? Paddle efficiently? Pull my boom or control my wing? And after a long surf session — what would I do with sore, tight muscles if it weren’t for yoga?
All my experience comes together in this book:

What I feel in my body after a surf session — tight muscles, stiffness, muscle ache — I know every surfer feels. That’s exactly why I wrote this book: to help surfers stay flexible, prevent injuries, and move freely on the water.
Many injuries are caused by tight muscles or restricted mobility. As a surfer, you need freedom of movement in every part of your body to adapt to your board, the waves, and the wind.
This book is not only for professionals — although I do train many pro and semi-pro surfers. It’s for all windsurfers, kiters, wingfoilers and surfers (longboard or shortboard), beginners and advanced, male and female.
