Boskalis expands its cable protection solutions with the addition of the powerful and versatile CBT2400 to its range of subsea cable trenchers. By combining both jetting and cutting modes into one trencher, it is suitable for burying cables in various soil types up to 3.3 meters deep. The CBT2400 has been mobilized onto our cable-laying vessel Ndeavor in Newcastle (UK) for sea trials.

We are very proud to have been awarded the offshore export cable installation contract for the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm by Ørsted Wind Power A/S. The project consists of three export cable circuits with a total length of approximately 380 kilometers.

Yesterday we attended the Big Bang STEM event at the Aegeus bowl in the UK where we provided advice on career path opportunities at Boskalis and introduced our VR game that has been adapted from one of our project scenes. Hosted by EBP South, Big Bang @ Solent is one of the biggest careers events on the South Coast for secondary school students aged 11-17. The aim of the event is to encourage young people to go into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine) careers.

Congratulations to e.on on the inauguration of the Arkona offshore wind farm. In 2018, Boskalis Subsea Cables & Flexibles installed the inter-array cables that connect the 60 six-megawatt turbines to the offshore substation in order to transport renewable energy to around 400,000 households.

Boskalis has reached an agreement with SPIE for the acquisition of the offshore cable installation activities and assets of Bohlen Doyen GmbH (BoDo).
