Less is more - the current challenge to overcome fatigue. I'm here to help you to unlearn stressful-habits. Let's connect.
Glassdoor recently announced the 2025 Word of the Year. It isn’t "AI" or even “agentic.”
It’s 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗲.
According to Glassdoor, usage of the word spiked 41% this year. It's not because of any one particular thing, but a collision of so many major changes, from sweeping economic shifts to layoff fears to AI, and more.
For those of us in L&D, this isn't a surprise. We see it in our learners, and frankly, many of us feel it ourselves.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Fatigue does more than just drain motivation. It crushes the three things learning needs to work:
• 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (people can’t take in new information)
• 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (no space to integrate)
• 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 (emotions overwhelm application of skills)
As you think about your 2026 strategy, fight the temptation to solve the problem with “more”: More AI tools, more content, more learning to access.
Instead, help them manage the cognitive load to find focus.
Support leaders in connecting with each other and their teams, so that they are not carrying their burdens in isolation.
And prioritize skills that help leaders manage emotional energy and recover faster
What’s one learning initiative you’d 𝘱𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 in 2026 to make room for focus? And what would you double down on instead?
