FOR THE CEREMONY 🤎
RECIPE:
Use raw (preferably organic, cacao (you can buy it ; We love the Maya Criollo Guatemala-100% ) but of course you can use any organic raw cacao.
🍫
REMARKS:
Preferably the cacao (chunks or powder) in its bitter form, you can add sweetener if desired. And adjust the cacao / water ratio based on your personal consistency desire, but this is a great ratio to get started with.
INGREDIENTS:
50 grams of Cacao
Half a cup of water
Pinch of chili or cayenne pepper
Sweetener such as honey or agave. Spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, or vanilla (optional)
INSTRUCTIONsS:
While preparing the cacao, do this with attention. Take the time to do this and prepare your cocoa about 20/30 minutes before the cocoa session. When using kibble, chop it into small pieces so that it can easily dissolve in hot water. Heat the water (for a cup) until just before boiling and add the cocoa. Use a whisk to stir until smooth. Traditionally, add the pinch of chili. Add the sweetener and other spices if necessary.
IMPORTANT health notes:
Do not consume caffeine or alcohol prior to cacao.
Drink plenty of water, especially towards the end of your ceremony. If you find yourself having a headache, you may be dehydrated, have had too much cacao, or are detoxing with the help of cocoa.
Antidepressants with MAO inhibitors are contraindicated in cocoa and can cause severe headaches.
Cocoa is a vasodilator and pumps more blood through the heart. Consider your dosage if you have heart disease.
SESSION:
Make sure your space feels safe and comfortable for you.
You can decorate your place with attention. Think of making an altar, placing flowers and lighting candles.
