Rapid development of modern technologies and globalization have incredibly changed the whole European business environment. Companies and their employees need to cope with defferent languages and cultures on every day basis. So we can not consider multilingualism as wonder or a competitive advantage. Bilingualism and multilingualism have become a part of our day-to-day life. Dealing with this reality, a lot of modern companies have embraced a number of innovative business practices, described in the case studies in European companies. 1. Комплекция vs Complexion . Example of wrong usage: He has a robust body complexion.
Word “Complexion” translates in Russian as "цвет лица". But word «Комплекция» means “Constituition”.
Example of correct sentence: He has a robust body constituion .
2. Композитор vs Compositor. Example of wrong using: She is a really famous compositor. Word “Compositor” is correctly to use if we talk about typographer, «наборщик текстов». Word «Композитор» correctly translates to “Composer”. Example of correct sentence: She is a really famous composer.

There is no wonder that more than 60 percent of world population speaks at least two languages. But knowing how to speak langauges is not the same exact thing as knowing how to translate. That is why, we can find mistakes in translation at every step, overall in the world.
5 Horrible Russian Translation Mistakes:
1. Внимание! Проход по лестнице запрещен! Wrong translation: Attention! There is no getting away! Correct: Attention! The usage of stairs is strictly prohibited!
2. Под мостом не стоять! Wrong translation: Under the bridge not to stand! Correct: Do not stay under the bridge.
3. Центр изобразительного искусства. Wrong: Oblast Art Center Correct: Centre of fine art.
4. Пожалуйста, уберите мой номер! Wrong translation: Please remove my room. Correct: Please! Clean up my room!
5. Ж/Д вокзал. Wrong: J/D station. Correct: Railway station.

“Creating Talking Dictionaries for Indigenous Languages”

Twelve indigenous language activists from across Latin America met at the Santiago Library in Chile, on January 7th, in order to research how modern digital technologies can influence on the process of documenting and revitalizing native languages. This event was organized by The Enduring Voices Project. The conference was provided with practical training about the usage of digital tools in their work.
