Today, on World TB Day 2026, we stand at a critical crossroads. Tuberculosis has reclaimed its position as the world’s leading infectious killer, claiming 1.23 million lives in the past year alone. But these aren’t just statistics — they are preventable tragedies. 🎯

As we reflect on this year’s theme, “Yes, We Can End TB!” our mission is clear: we must close the gap between those falling ill and those receiving care. With 10.7 million new cases in 2024, our priority is accelerating the rollout of rapid molecular diagnostics and ensuring that treatment reaches the most vulnerable — from crowded urban centers to remote communities. 🏠

Ending TB is not just a clinical goal; it is a strategic investment in global health security. Every dollar invested in ending TB returns up to $43 in health and economic gains.

The International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) was established in 1949 on the initiative of 8 countries. It is currently the oldest faculty-based student organisation. IPSF now represents over 350,000 pharmacy students and recent graduates in more than 80 countries worldwide.

IPSF is the leading international advocacy organization for the future generation of pharmacists. IPSF promotes improved public health through the provision of information, education, networking and a range of publications and professional activities. IPSF also runs several projects during the year mainly on Pharmacy Education, Professional Development and on Student Exchange.

IPSF aims to equip members for professional life in local and international settings, increase member involvement in global health and strengthen interprofessional commitment to healthcare.
