Today, on Earth Day 2026, we stand at a critical crossroad. The systems designed to protect human health are also contributing to the degradation of our planet, threatening the very foundation of our well-being. The pharmaceutical sector alone accounts for a significant share of global emissions, alongside growing concerns of chemical waste and environmental contamination. But these are not unavoidable consequences; they are preventable challenges. 🌍

As we reflect on this year’s call to action, our mission is clear: we must bridge the gap between healthcare innovation and environmental responsibility. From sustainable manufacturing to responsible prescribing and safer disposal practices, accelerating the transition to Green Pharma is no longer optional, it is essential! 💊

Advancing sustainable healthcare is not just an environmental priority; it is a strategic investment in global health. A resilient healthcare system cannot exist without a healthy planet.

Let’s turn awareness into action, and innovation into impact. Together, we can build a future where healthcare heals without harm.

We are excited to launch the IPSF Alumni Spotlight 2025–2026 by featuring Oussama Madadi (ARPEC, Algeria), a distinguished IPSF alumnus whose journey reflects dedication to leadership and professional growth.

During his time in IPSF, Oussama held several key
positions including IPSF President (2021–2022), President-Elect (2020–2021), and Advisory
Board President (2022–2023), contributing significantly to the development of the federation and its global community.

Today, Oussama serves as an Administrative Pharmacist and Technical Regulatory Assessor at
the National Regulatory Authority of Algeria (ANPP), continuing his impact within the pharmaceutical and regulatory field.

Through his story, we are reminded that IPSF is more than a student organization—it is a platform that helps shape future leaders in pharmacy and healthcare.

“Don’t limit yourself to what pharmacy looks like today. Learn the fundamentals well, stay curious, and build skills beyond the traditional scope. The profession is much bigger than you think.”
