✨ Last month, I was invited to join .vivifier on stage for their performance of It’s a Feeling 2 at the . Silva and I then recreated a therapy session live on stage. It was a fun and meaningful experience. What happens when you bring the intimate, often hidden world of therapy onto the stage and make it visible to everyone?

‘It’s a Feeling 2 is a portrait of Silva what it feels like to be her, from the inside out. A performance about girls who feel everything and are told they are too much. About parents who love you but don’t know how to hold on to you. About getting angry and wanting to apologize at the same time. About how a body remembers what the mind has forgotten. Everything is real, even when it’s imagined.’

In their performance, Pensive2Vivifier explore the idea that diagnoses are never just individual, but deeply socio-political. They question the role of gender in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and consider how certain ways of feeling, expressing emotions, or occupying space are pathologised more quickly in some bodies than in others.

Thank you again, Pensive2Vivifier, for bringing me along! 🩷

💫 Who am I here? Belonging, identity & culture shock for international students 💫

Together with , and as part of Wellbeing Week at Utrecht University, we facilitated a workshop exploring migration and its many processes.

We reflected on migration as a non-linear journey, using the metaphor of a roller coaster: full of ups, downs, pauses, and uncertainty.

We made space to talk about the griefs that can emerge through migration: grief for family and friends, for territory, for culture, for belonging, etc. Losses that are often invisible.

Inspired by Rebecca Solnit, we also explored what it means to get lost, understanding migration as a process of losing, but also of opening ourselves to the unknown where new meanings, identities, and solidarities can emerge.

We closed with a writing exercise, inviting participants to reflect on their own trajectories from the perspective of their past, present, or future self.

✍️ We chose writing as it can help us reclaim our stories and become the authors of the narratives we live by. 💛

✨ Rethinking Masculinities: A Collective Reflection ✨
About a month ago, together with , we had the opportunity to present our workshop “Rethinking Masculinities” during Well-Being Week at Utrecht University. We were warmly welcomed into their beautiful botanic garden, where we held space for a collective reflection on how patriarchal masculinity impacts us all.

Through a feminist lens, we invited participants to think critically about the societal norms shaping masculinity, acknowledging the effects of patriarchal masculinity on women, trans and gender-diverse people, as well as its intersections with other systems of power. We also asked: How does patriarchy affect cis men, and how can involving them in these conversations contribute to preventing gender-based violence (GBV)?

This workshop was about engagement. We came together to reflect in small groups, share perspectives, and connect these discussions to our own lived experiences of masculinities.

Rather than focusing on “good” or “bad” representations of masculinity, we encouraged participants to step outside this binary and approach the topic with curiosity, imagining what masculinity can look like, and how its expressions can both harm and transform.

Some of the questions we reflected on together were:
• How have you been impacted by patriarchal masculinity?
• Which alternative models of masculinity have you encountered, and what do you think of them?
• What would a more desirable masculinity look like for you?
• Whose responsibility is it to involve cis-men in these conversations?
• How can you contribute to bringing change?

We wrapped up the workshop with the words of bell hooks:
“The first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves.”

Let’s keep thinking, unlearning, and creating together. 💜

Dear clients and community,

After working for 2 and a half years in the beautiful Rhizomes practice we built with , we’ve moved from our space. It’s not without emotion that I leave such a space where we’ve put a lot of work, love and care into (trying to) making it comfortable for anyone who enters. Thank you to Angela for being half my brain running it and an unconditional support in this adventure, and to all those who have contributed in one way or another to the realization of this project.

Psymobil’s journey continues online (for now). I will welcome you in this space, where I will continue to meet you with the same commitment.

See you soon! 💜

Some time ago, I had the chance to present a workshop on burnout as part of the Women In Quantum Development (WIQD) symposium. WIQD’s mission is to bring together women and other gender minorities in the quantum field to support, network and develop the community.

During the workshop, we explored burn out from a psychosocial and political perspective, which led to us to talk about power dynamics in the work place, individual/collective responsibilities and to reflect on how to take care of ourselves in order to avoid exhaustion. Many thanks to the participants for sharing their thoughts and experiences and to WIQD for entrusting me with the topic. It was a pleasure to do it! 🪫💻🤯💬✨💜
