From a run all the way from Rotterdam to Paris 🏃‍♀️ to cooking for charity 👩‍🍳, our team goes the extra mile (literally!) for good causes.
Each year, 10 vouchers are distributed to GenDx employee to support the charities and events they care about most.

On this World Kindness Day, we’re celebrating the many ways kindness takes shape — through movement, community, and giving back.

Together, we proudly donated € 3.850 to Stichting Matchis, the Dutch Center for Stem Cell Donors 💜

The donated amount represents one sponsored donor per GenDx employee.

This week, Bert Elbertse, Manager Donor Relations and Communications, visited our Utrecht office to accept the voucher and brainstorm about current challenges and future collaborations.

The "Fit to Donate" initiative was organized to raise awareness and funds for Matchis to cover the costs of typing and registering new donors. This run was inspired by previous “Tulip Runs” held during Immunogenetics conferences.

A heartfelt thank you to all GenDx colleagues, friends, family, and neighboring companies in the Utrecht Science Park area who joined us and supported this meaningful initiative!

Together, we can improve the chance of finding a donor for every patient in need of a stem cell transplant.

She will discuss the challenge of tumour heterogeneity and the growing role of biomarkers—like TAAs and TSAs—in guiding treatment.

➡️ Dr. Valentina Manzini, Project Coordinator, Companion Diagnostics at GenDx, will introduce the fundamentals of HLA biology and its role in immune recognition.

She will explain how HLA typing has advanced—from serology to NGS—and how it’s enabling HLA-restricted therapies like cancer vaccines and adoptive T-cell treatments. Using real-world examples, she will show how HLA typing is becoming a companion diagnostic and shaping the future of personalized immunotherapy.

Give&Live is a cycling association for people whose lives are touched by organ transplantation—recipients, donors, and those personally or professionally connected to the cause.

Their mission? To keep moving—both literally and figuratively—with the ultimate goal of cycling to the summit of the Mont Ventoux in the South of France 🚵‍♂️

Our colleague Henk van Laar joined this journey in 2022, followed by Marcin Braams and Bart Valkenburg in 2024!

ASHI 2025 Highlights 🧬

The 51st ASHI Annual Meeting brought together experts from around the world to discuss advances in histocompatibility, immunogenetics, and transplantation.

Our 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is quickly becoming a true GenDx tradition. This bi-annual event is a fun and inspiring way to wrap up the onboarding journey for all new colleagues who joined the GenDx team in the past months.

Yesterday, we hosted the fall edition in the stunning Kunstkamer Utrecht in the heart of Utrecht. We look back on a great day!

After an afternoon filled with presentations, ranging from formal introductions to “myth-busting” facts and fables from different teams, it was time to relax over drinks and dinner, joined by the entire Leadership Team.
