What a great few days in Hong Kong! The 26th World Sterilization Congress was an inspiring experience!

We had a fantastic time meeting so many professionals at our Famos booth, exchanging ideas and discussing innovations in CSSD and sterilization.

This year, we were proud to introduce FamoTect, our new insulation tester designed to bring a higher standard of safety into every CSSD.

CSSD technicians can now test the insulation integrity of medical devices and instruments right at the point of processing because visual inspection alone simply isn’t enough. Hidden cracks in insulation can go unnoticed and a single undetected electrical leak inside a laparoscopic instrument can result in patient burns.

FamoTect steps in where the eye falls short, ensuring every instrument is safe before it reaches the OR.

*When a Bowie-Dick test tells a story!*

Last week, in a hospital in Kuwait, our Famos chemical indicator suddenly became the *main suspect* behind repeated Bowie-Dick test failures.

All eyes turned to us.

Everyone pointed fingers at the indicator.

They even brought in other brands — and guess what? Those passed. Ours kept failing.

At that moment, it really looked like the problem was ours.

But we’ve learned that every result tells a story — and we trust the products we make.

So we worked side by side with the hospital team to understand what was really happening.

Together, we inspected everything — the sterilizer, the loading, the air removal, the process itself.

And soon, the truth appeared:

The issue wasn’t the indicator at all — it was a process leak in the sterilizer cycle.

It was a moment of relief, but more importantly, a reminder: the indicator had done exactly what it was designed to do — reveal the truth.

That day reminded us of something essential in CSSD work:

🔹 Not every “Pass” means your system is perfect.

🔹 Not every “Fail” means your indicator is wrong.

The right chemical indicator doesn’t just pass or fail — it tells the truth.

A month ago, we said goodbye to Percy, who retired after 24 incredible years at FAMOS.

Percy wasn’t just a colleague — he was part of the FAMOS family. His jokes, humor, and positive energy made even the busiest days brighter, and he was a real prankster!

But Percy was also a dedicated professional, helping to create CSSD products that will last for years and support hospitals and clinics every day.

Even in retirement, he still drops by to lend a hand — a true testament to his dedication and love for the FAMOS team.

Percy Mafficioli del Casteletto, thank you for 24 years of hard work, laughter, and memories. You’ve left a lasting mark on all of us!
