It is Climate Week in the Netherlands. We believe every small step counts: supporting organic growers, reducing CO₂, saving water, protecting soil — all of which are part of our business model. Even when sourcing from abroad, we ensure the most sustainable option possible.

For instance, this week we received the first containers of organic Ataulfo mangos (or Honey Mangos) by boat!

It’s a unique achievement: Eosta is the only company bringing these tree-ripened Ataulfo mangoes to Europe by boat — keeping them fresh and full of flavour while reducing emissions.

We’re expanding our organic cranberry program – bringing festive fruit without the environmental cost 🌿

At Eosta, we’re proud to announce the expansion of our innovative organic cranberry program — proving that sustainable farming can offer real solutions to today’s environmental challenges.

In the Krimpenerwaard region, our partner The Cranberry Company grows organic cranberries on 18 hectares of peat soil — an inspiring example of farming with nature. By keeping the soil naturally moist, peat oxidation is prevented, biodiversity is protected, and CO₂ emissions are reduced. It’s a climate-positive alternative to traditional dairy farming in vulnerable peatland areas.

These little bursts of sunshine are packed with flavour, freshness and natural cleaning power. Here’s how to make the most of them 👇

✨ In the kitchen:
• Add zest to cakes, dressings or pasta for an instant lift.
• Squeeze over fish, roasted veggies or salads for a bright touch.
• Mix zest and juice into soft butter with sea salt for easy lemon butter.
• Freeze slices in water for quick lemon ice cubes.
• Or make preserved lemons for that Mediterranean twist!

🧼 Around the house:
• Mix lemon juice with vinegar and water for a natural cleaner.
• Scrub cutting boards or steel with half a lemon + salt.
• Simmer peels with cinnamon for a natural air freshener.

Did you know? We’re committed to making sure as little produce as possible goes to waste. Here are some of the ways we do that:

🍎 We buy fruit in all shapes and sizes, including those imperfect ones — because they’re still delicious and nutritious.

🥑 Leftovers? Not wasted — they become avocado oil, jams, chutneys, and more.

👩‍🍳 We work with InstockMarket to rescue produce and turn it into great meals with chefs.

🛒 Extra surplus gets passed on to market vendors so it can still be enjoyed.

Together, we can do more. Let’s keep the fresh produce where it belongs — on plates, not in compost.
