A warm welcome in Riga 🇱🇻
This week, we visited our Latvian dealer Baltmedika in Riga. An inspiring trip!
At a rehabilitation centre, we had the opportunity to present our mobile Snoezel carts and multisensory rooms and to see how experiential care is developing there. There is strong attention for rehabilitation and for supporting people with disabilities in a meaningful way.
One of the highlights was visiting a brand-new residential centre for people with severe multiple disabilities. The project was initiated by occupational therapist Dita Rituma, who is also the mother of one of the residents. Her passion and dedication truly make a difference. Thanks to the support of the municipality of Riga, a beautiful and future-proof care environment has been realised.
Both the residential centre and the adjacent day-care facility have been making intensive use of our waterbed elements for over a year.
An important topic during our visit was the correct application and implementation of multisensory materials. Good implementation requires knowledge and guidance. That is why Baltmedika is starting dedicated training sessions, a trajectory in which we are pleased to contribute as a knowledge partner.
