Taming your inner critic is an incredibly important step in recovering from burnout. When you get to know the sound of your inner critic you can identify when it speaks untruth into your life and separate yourself from it.

Recognising the thought patterns that come from your inner critic and actively trying to reframe the stories you’ve subconsciously told yourself through life will give you a better chance at achieving a more balanced, grounded and productive mindset.

Feeling tired is a natural state of wanting sleep or rest, and the feeling usually goes away once you finally get proper sleep and adequate rest.

Burnout, on the other hand, is a state of physical, emotional and mental exhaustion as a result of unmanaged, chronic stress for months and often years. Sleep and rest doesn’t make it better.

These are some of the most common symptoms of burnout, but the list is longer.

Knowing the difference between tiredness and burnout can help you identify when it’s time to take action and make adjustments in life. When tiredness persists, intensifies, and compromises motivation, focus, and productivity, it’s time to take action.

If left untreated, burnout can take a toll on your physical, mental, and emotional health so it’s important to recognize the signs and take steps to address it.

If you recognise the symptoms, I would be happy to book you in for a free burnout chat. Use the DM-button and I’ll respond within 24hours✨✨

Why do you think moms are more prone to burnout than fathers?

It's important that we can have an honest conversation about the realities of motherhood. Motherhood is no doubt one of the most rewarding, but also challenging roles in the world. Modern mothers face unprecedented demands while striving to juggle work, family, and other commitments ~ oftentimes alone.

If you're a parent experiencing burnout, this Christmas season can be extra tough. But there are some things you can do to make it more manageable.

With the holiday season upon us, it's easy to feel overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done. The 15 minute rule (watch my last video) can be a lifesaver when it comes to managing your to-do list. So take a deep breath and give yourself a break. If it can wait, let it wait. Breathe instead. You deserve it, and you need it!

30/11/2022

Do you spend a lot of your energy overthinking and worrying? As burned out, learning to detect your energy leaks and spend your energy more wisely is an important piece of the puzzle when healing. «The 15 minute rule” will help you save energy:👇🏼

💡If what`s on your mind is not something you can change, solve or do something constructive about within the next 15 minutes: free it from your mind! Let it go until the energy you`re spending on it does justice to what you`re gaining from being occupied by it. Ask yourself: can I solve this thing right now? Can I do or finish the task now? If your answers are no, why let it drain your energy sources?💥

Overthinking and worrying is something too many of us are really, really good at. And at the end of the days all it does is deprive you of your joy and steal your presence. It’s just not worth it!

Will you try it out? Let me know how it goes! 😄👇🏼

Remember to share is you know someone who might find this helpful🙏🏼

I don’t know about you, but when I was going through burnout I experienced all of these symptoms. I couldn’t hold on to information, and struggled so hard to concentrate and keep focus. I could literally sit at my desk at work, not knowing what to do. But I found a way to make it a little less (a lot actually:) disturbing. The tip I want to share with you is a real simple one, so simple that it feels weird sharing it. But the truth is that burnout can leave us so overwhelmed that even the simplest solutions are out of reach. The tip?👇🏼

Write everything down! And do it when the information is fresh, in other words in the very moment the thought enters your mind. Add to-do things on the calendar on your📱 and turn the alarm on, even for the smallest tasks. Make lists that you can edit as you go, that’ll help you to stay constantly updated and you don’t have to worry if you’re forgetting something. A system like this will support you and keep you on track when your brain functions are suffering from burnout.

It can be difficult and scary to experience these symptoms. But they need to be addressed, because a burnout doesn’t heal itself. If you’re feeling stuck in the burnout-loop, and don’t know where to start on your recovery journey, I highly recommend you to seek help. The right help will prevent you from trying and failing and making the recovery process more difficult and long lasting than it could be. These symptoms are a clear sign that it’s important to take action steps towards recovery, the sooner the better.

Have you experienced/ are experiencing any of these 🧠symptoms? How are they showing up? For me the worst one was the complete lack of memory🥴

DM me if you’re interested in learning more about my Burnout Recovery Programme, I would love to have a chat with you✨

It`s so hard to get oot of our heads, especially during a burnout season. Did you know that when we are burned out we even have a tendencie to add more stuff to our lists than normal? It seems weird, but it`s true. So this exercise is a tool that can be helpful to remove some of that unnecessary stuff. It will hopefully give you a chance to free some time so that you can do more of what really matters to you. For me, it is important to have moments with my children every day where I tune in on them, and try to with the flow without any other purpose than being present. I`d chose presence over presents every time (donnow if my kids would, though😅). This is the exercise:

Grab two pieces of paper, or write it as notes on your phone:

Step 1: On the 1st page you write down everything you feel you need to get done before/ during christmas: from housework to baking to shopping to planning outfits -
E V E R Y T H I N G your mind tells you you have to do.

Step 2: find a marker of some kind and put a line over all the stuff on the list that you feel you have to do to make a nice Christmas for everyone, but that are truly about YOUR expectations and standards - not your childrens, not your spouses, not your neighbours, not your family’s (do you think they’ll even notice if you don’t do some of these things?). When burned out we become so lost in all the “to do-s” without reflecting over the whys of our to do-s. Go through the list a few times and reflect.

Step 3: write a new list with only the stuff that are left unmarked!

Step 4: throw the first list away!

How many things where you able to remove from your first list? Share in the comments so that you can inspire another mom🤸🏼‍♀️🥰

Burnout is an undeniable sign that something is not right in your life. Pushing through the way you`re used to will not make it disappear. Recovery demands change in action. If you`re dealing with burnout you may have trouble knowing which steps to take. These tips are for you:

Challenge your mindset~> maybe the most important step to beat burnout. When you challenge the way you think you arm yourself with possibilities.
Practice self-compassion~> stop beating yourself up for all the things you tell yourself you should do differently. You are good enough even if you don`t believe it. Allow yourself to embrace that thought, and bury the never-enoughness for good.
Move your body~> reduces stress and rewards you with a ton of overall health benefits
Prioritize and delegate~> take time to think about your core values: what is most important to you? What`s not that important? Make choices that align with your values, say no if it doesn't serve you and what you need right now. Delegate whenever possible!
Talk to someone~> share how you feel without romanticizing it. Be honest.
Practice relaxation techniques~> like breathing techniques, mindfullness, cold exposure - whatever feels most right for you.

And nr 7: seek help if you feel stuck! Knowledge about what to do is often not enough to make change.

What are your best tips for a stress-less life? ⚖️

The list is long, but these are some of the most common symptoms of parental burnout. If you have been trying several times to get better on your own, but you don`t feel any progress and your exhaustion is constant, you may have "hit the wall".

While healthy short-term stress increases our stamina and helps us focus, stress related to burnout often (with some variatons) does the opposite: makes us low in energy, feeling flat and out of fuel - and unable to refuel like we normally do.

Its important to remember that burnout is a normal reaction to life`s stressors, and that it`s not your fault. But I strongly recommend, If you’re not doing it already, to share with someone you trust how you really feel and what you`re going through, and seek help if the situation feels overwhelming and you`re not sure about where to start on your healing journey.

If you recognize the signs listed above chances are you’re experiencing mommy burnout. I believe mommy burnout is much more common than the term used for it. Being a mom in our society is the opposite of easy! I don`t believe motherhood has ever been easy, but the world we live in today is demanding so much from us in all areas of life. All the expectations laid upon our shoulders messes deeply with our identities and our intuitive motherhearts. We`re not supposed to do what feels right to us anymore, we`re expected to do what someone else tells us is right – like we`re all the same person raising the same children.

In addition to believing that’s a dangerous path as a society to follow, I also believe that all this contributes to mothers feeling exhausted, disconnected from themselves and others, ultimately ending up burned out and fatigued from nurturing in a world that doesn’t nurture back.

If you`re experiencing the symptoms of mommy burnout listed above, you have my deepest compassion and understanding. I know it’s a rough season to be in, and I also want you to remember just that: it’s a season. You can work your way out of it and become yourself again! I am dedicated to help moms beat burnout and learn them techniques that will prevent future ones.

Growing your way out of burnout is not a quick fix. It took time getting there, and it will take some time working your way out. But knowing what to do and how to do it will get you where you want to be for yourself and for your children much faster.

My tip for the day, if you`re suffering from mom burnout, is simply maybe the hardest one:

Acknowledge that you are burned out. This is actually a crucial first step to overcoming burnout. Admitting that we are overwhelmed being moms/ parents can be really difficult, as it can add more guilt to already existing guilt. Show yourself some self-compassion, acknowledge your effort and allow yourself to be overwhelmed. It`s ok for mommies to be exhausted too. It`s ok.

Drop a 💯if you know moms who carry an entire army on their own.

And drop a ❤️ if you believe seeking help is an act of courage!
