8+ years of using red light therapy in Norway - is there anyone out there in Norway that has used it longer??

I have learned so much in that time, read so much research, gained a deeper understanding of the function of RLT and how to use it best for different goals.

I loved it so much that I set up my own company many years ago with the aim of helping Norwegians cope in this climate!

I have subsequently helped thousands of Norwegians with light therapy and tried to help teach the differences in how to utilise red light therapy for different reasons. How you use red light therapy for skin rejuvenation ve osteoarthritis of the knee is very different and requires different things - no one in Norway is talking about that and offers guidance. My business was set up to genuinely help people by offering the product and the service to help. I hope that comes across in what I do!

All the while I'm still teaching people that red light therapy is add-on to natural light therapy, not a replacement.

WiFi and other non-native EMF - they are completely safe, right?

What do you think? You've been told they are safe and have no effect. What if they did harm you, or at least effect you. Would you change anything?

Perhaps you can try turning off your smart devices? Your WiFi at night? Don't have your phone in your bedroom.

Try it for a week and see how much better you feel because, hint...... It does have an effect on your body!

Red light therapy and blood glucose:

If you’re like me, you might have family members—maybe a parent or a grandparent—who are constantly keeping an eye on their blood sugar levels or living with things like prediabetes or Type 2. It’s a lot to manage, isn’t it?

​Well, I've mentioned it before but I need to mention it again, red light therapy should be part of the regime.

​Here’s the "simple version" of what’s happening under the skin:
​Waking up the cells: The red light (specifically around 670\text{ nm}) hits our mitochondria—the little power stations in our cells. It basically helps them run more smoothly.

​Burning fuel better: When those power stations are efficient, they start "demanding" more sugar (glucose) from the blood to turn into energy. It’s like clearing out a logjam.

​Helping Insulin do its job: For those with insulin resistance, the "doors" to the cells are often stuck shut. Red light helps nudge those doors open, making it much easier for insulin to ushered sugar out of the bloodstream and into the cells where it belongs.

​Smoothing out the spikes: Because the cells are more responsive, you don’t get those massive, exhausting crashes after a meal.

​It’s not a "magic cure," of course, but as a bit of extra support alongside a healthy lifestyle, it’s a really gentle, non-invasive way to help our loved ones feel a bit more in control of their metabolic health.

You train your body to become more efficient and deal with stresses you place upon. You wouldn't go out and try and run a marathon in one day - you would train and strengthen the areas you needed to in order to better cope.

Your skin is the same! Your skin has been sheltered away from months, it's become lazy and inefficient at dealing with photons. Be sure to expose early in the year to allow yourself to train up the efficiency of your skin at dealing with photons of light. Not only is this a huge positive for the body in the short term as you get exposed to far more photons and thus improve physiological function. You also start to become more effective at dealing with photons induced stress so that when strong sunlight arrives later in the year, your skin is read and efficient!

Picture 1: The REAL mood – Photons in the 620–700 nm range (and extending into near-infrared) are absorbed by chromophores in the mitochondrial electron transport chain—primarily cytochrome c oxidase (Complex IV). Red light ➔ absorbed by mitochondrial proteins, increasing energy production, reduces oxidative stress

Infrared light ➔ penetrates deep into tissues, reduces inflammation.

Myopia is on the rise. With the increased crappy lighting, more screen time and limited outdoor time, eye health is suffering.

Can red light help?

It seems to be helpful and just as importantly it seems to be safe after 3 years!

If eye health is something that you wish help with, especially for myopia perhaps it's time for you to think about red light therapy.
