To be fair, a Vinyasa class - especially, 60 min like most studios have, is tricky to lead. Making sure there is space for breath connection, alignment cues, accessible modifications, not to mention enough savasana, is like juggling ten balls at the same time.
So there might not be much space for a good dharma-talk or philosophy. But without that, would it be a yoga class? 🤔
My favorite ways to sneak in the deeper layers:
• The words we choose matter. Words carry vibrations, it matters what I say and how I say it.
• Questions instead of directions. What would feel juicy in your body or now that you know, how do you want to make this movement yours?
• Nature cues, stories and intentions behind flows. Always sky, not ceiling; earth, not floor - even if we are indoors it makes a difference. A story or metaphor sometimes will reveal much more than explaining a concept.
