This was back in 2016 - one of my first Yoga for Dancers at the Nordic Salsa Congress in Oslo. 📍

This is where and who I started teaching first - dancers in dance studios and festivals. Why? Because these were the people I knew best. I knew what they needed and even what they didn’t know they need.

Back in 2016 my first yoga course was Yoga for Dancers that I developed myself. It was an 8 week program that helped dancers with using their breath, balance and mobility because I knew well what they struggled with most. I was teaching it at SalsaKompaniet and later at the Nordic Salsa Experience. And I’m grateful for them trusting the concept because it made a difference.

Now in 2025 - almost 10 years later - I teach so many different styles and classes from traditional Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin to Hot yoga and yoga Nidra and I have so much more experience.

But few things remain the same:

• Teach people, not poses - my teacher used to say. As teachers we must quickly adapt to whatever the situation. No mats? Adjust the practice. New people? Adjust your language.

• You must begin from where you are - another truth that still stands. Allowing ourselves to start somewhere without holding onto perfection and recognizing that the people we can serve best is the people that we are ourselves.

I hope that another 10 years from now both dance and yoga are still in my life as they are the two things that have been the source of my joy and happiness.

This Saturday together with Aya Yoga we are celebrating 2025 by creating special workshop - Inside Flow and Guided Meditation - to hold space for what is coming.

This is the first time we are bringing the joy and the energy of Inside Flow to Aya Yoga.

This class combines:
• an introduction to this special type of yoga practice - a modern dynamic vinyasa flow built on music and a specific song
• pausing for a special guided group meditation
• and a closing circle to hold space for others and ourselves.

In January we start 2025 with a special mini-workshop combining the energy of Inside Flow and a powerful heart meditation to make the next year truly magical.

• We start with opening circle and a gentle slow flow to move our bodies, open our minds and release what is no longer serving us. Then we take a moment to anchor our deepest desires for 2025 and we energize the intentions with a fun, positive and powerful Inside Flow that combines music and yoga flow.

We wrap up the experience with a guided meditation to hold space for new opportunities.

JULY’S TOPIC: Ease is anything but easy. 💜

Being at ease - with life, with ourselves, with a practice - is harder than it seems. Often because we’ve been conditioned otherwise.

• For those of us who run a million things a day, who value productivity and achievement, sitting down for a 10-min meditation can feel like a heavy lifting session.

• For those of us who freeze in response to challenges, who doubt our power and ability, doing 50 push-ups and enjoying it, is unlikely and frankly, why bother?

The thing is - both are so human and both are simply a response to everything around us.

So is, being at ease.

• Being at ease is not being idle. But it’s doing what needs to be done and trusting it is enough.

• Being at ease is being present. It’s knowing that things always change but being patient with that change.

… Ease is anything but easy. 😊 But it’s the way we were meant to live.

DUALITY is the topic of April. ☯️ Life exists in the unity of the duality, we know that - from winter to summer, from day to night, from contraction to expansion. And so it ever flows.

We know that in order to fully inhale, we simply must first fully exhale. No one remained forever breathing in only.

So if we know that the only path of letting in is through letting go, why is it so hard at times to trust the process?

Let’s talk about playfulness! This month we take on a topic that as adults we tend to overlook.

♡ I believe that sometimes in yoga (and in life) we take things a little too seriously. We try a little too hard. We leave play for children and focus on the ‘important’ things in life.

♡ But play allows for growth. Play allows for mistakes, there is no right and wrong for play. It’s made for connecting with the realm of possibilities - where the possible and impossible merge into one.

♡ Play allows for laughter. It allows for connection. It is inclusive by nature.

♡ Play is the highest form of research, said Einstein. But do we really need someone to tell us what we already know deep within us?

TO ALL WOMEN 🩷 in our lives that inspire us, that support us and that grow us. To all those…

• women who run a business and have found the courage to go after their dreams
• women who excel in jobs and careers that were once believed to be for men only
• women who multitask a million things and still find time for those they love

… women who are speaking up, showing up, taking space, and that may at times forget themselves in the process. Today and all days onwards, please remember to SHINE. 🌸 The world needs our light.

Probably the most common advice we give and receive is…

❝ Just be yourself…❞

And yet, it can be the hardest one to do.

Being ourselves requires courage. To be seen. To be witnessed, as we are.
And it also requires trust that we will not be judged. By others, and most importantly - by ourselves.

In February, let’s talk about AUTHENTICITY 💛 on and off the matt.

No fancy highlights reel or year recap.

ᡣ𐭩 If we are LUCKY… a good year would look something like this. A roll of photos that mean little to anyone else but YOU.

ᡣ𐭩 If we are lucky… some of the photos will be blurry, but the love that is flowing through them - crystal clear.

ᡣ𐭩 If we are lucky… our camera will start recognizing these faces again and again, year after year.

ᡣ𐭩 If we are lucky… the background and location where they were taken, will not matter. As in the foreground is all you ever want to remember.

‪♡ If we are lucky… 10 photos will not be enough to capture all the wonderful faces that left a mark on your heart that year.
