Last week our Early Career Researcher Committee organised their first Språkkafe!

💬The idea behind the event was simple, to bring colleagues together to practice Norwegian in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We had great conversations, lots of laughter, and (of course) pizza! 🍕 It was wonderful to see researchers from different countries come together and connect through language and culture.

A big thank you to everyone who joined, we’re already looking forward to the next session!

We just had a wonderful meeting at Hurdalsjøen for CRESCOs second annual retreat. It's so nice to gather everyone in person to discuss science, initiate collaborstions and socialise!
The program included speakers from available core facilities, our early career researchers and the Centres Director for the Centre for Fertility and Health.

The CRESCO Early Career Researcher (ECR) Committee had the pleasure of welcoming Daniel Bojar, Associate Professor of Bioinformatics at the University of Gothenburg. He shared his inspiring career journey and provided valuable insights for early career scientists.

🚀 His achievements, including the Branco Weiss Fellowship and a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list, provided valuable insights for early career scientists.
He even revealed that he just received an European Research Council (ERC) grant!

We had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Leo Kurian from Goethe University Frankfurt for our most recent CRESCO Guest Lecture.

His presentation was titled "A Pre-mRNA Splicing Program Decouples Cell Fate Decisions from Function During Cardiac Development".

Dr. Kurian explored the complex role of pre-mRNA in cardiac development and its critical impact on heart function. He highlighted how specific splicing decisions can influence and the consequences of misregulation on cardiac health.
