We are refreshing our CPR knowledge! 🫀🫁
Over a series of small-group courses, all MIK research employees will receive a 2h practical CPR course. The course covers single-rescue, group-rescue and using a Automated External Defibrillator. ❤️‍🩹
Thanks to our instructors Mari Støen and Rune J. Forstrøm !

💫 Our Annual Report for 2025 is here! 💫

CRESCO brings together expertise in epigenetics and epitranscriptomics, DNA repair and genome stability, stem cells, embryology, reproductive medicine, and livestock/aquaculture reproduction to understand how healthy development is established and maintained. 🧬

🔬 In this year’s report, we highlight how our research groups combine advanced molecular methods, such as single-cell and low-input sequencing, organoid models, and high-resolution microscopy, with computational and bioinformatic analysis to decode genome regulation, study disease mechanisms and explore new diagnostic and therapeutic avenues .

The report also showcases:
🥼 The growing role of our Early Career Researchers, including PhD theses, Young Investigator Grants and international awards and recognitions
💡 Innovation projects translating basic discoveries into potential new treatments, tools and technologies in areas such as cancer, neurodegeneration and reproductive health
🤝 Strengthened collaboration with patients and society, including our first Patient Day to co-create better patient involvement across the research pipeline
🚀 A vibrant scientific community supported by guest lectures, retreats and international collaborations across institutions and countries

Five pioneering women who changed the course of science:
🥼 Marie Skłodowska-Curie advanced our understanding of radioactivity and became the first person to win two Nobel Prizes in different sciences.
🧬 Rosalind Franklin’s work was critical to revealing the structure of DNA.
🚀 Katherine Johnson’s mathematical brilliance helped launch early NASA space missions.
💻 Ada Lovelace is recognized as the world’s first computer programmer.
