From Kenneth Sørensen – on unity, difference & the soul of our community

This year, I’ve been reminded—again and again—that real community is not built by agreement, but by love.

In New York, 130 psychosynthesis colleagues gathered for deep dialogue, and I felt it in every room: it’s not our theories that bind us, but the spirit in which we meet. In Florence, at Casa Assagioli, it was the same. The soul of the house lives in the walls—and in the hearts of those who return there, year after year, to remember what this work is really about.

These experiences moved something in me. They also made me ask:
What are we truly united around as a psychosynthesis community?
And where do our differences matter more than we might want to admit?

In this new article, I’ve tried to open up that question. Not to settle it—but to spark a conversation. Because synthesis is not the absence of difference. It is the sacred dance between unity and diversity.

A near accident in Copenhagen changed how I see my mind.

In that instant I looked calm – but inside, another part of me was already arguing, blaming, reacting.

That day I realised I’m not one unified self – but a whole inner cast of characters, each with its own fears and intentions.

When we recognise these voices with awareness and compassion, we stop being ruled by them – we become the one who listens.

Your Inner Dialogue Explained – Part 1 of 3

Have you ever caught yourself arguing with yourself?
One voice says, “go on, you deserve it.”
Another whispers, “don’t – you’ll regret it.”

We all live with this inner conversation.
But few ever ask: who’s actually speaking?

In Psychosynthesis we call these inner voices subpersonalities – parts of ourselves formed through experience.

This first part shares the story of a near accident in Copenhagen that opened my eyes to how many “selves” were living inside me.

A few extra glimpses from our trip to Casa Assagioli in Florence 🌿

It was a true privilege to be invited to hold a workshop on the transpersonal in psychosynthesis and to guide the World Psychosynthesis Day meditation from Assagioli’s own office.

The atmosphere was filled with love and inspiration — meeting so many kind and passionate people was deeply heartwarming. A special thank you to the Alle Fonti Group for their wonderful work, care, and trust — the love they poured into this gathering could truly be felt.

Sharing this experience with my daughter Anna made it all the more meaningful.

This year, I will attend the Alle Fonti Group in Florence, where I will lead a workshop on the connections to the superconscious. Additionally, I will lead the annual meditation at the World Psychosynthesis Day at 6:00 p.m. on September 20th.

I hope you will join our meditation, based on Assagioli’s original outline, which aims to bring together all psychosynthesis practitioners and humanity.
