🌐 243,000 people have searched for "how to test indoor air quality in your home" so far this January; compared to 15,000 in the same timeframe last year.
❄️ We don't know why exactly, but perhaps spending more time stuck indoors this winter is part of it. Whatever the reason might be (we'll probably never know), it's amazing to see people paying more attention to their home's air quality.

January is Radon Action Month because now—as we close our doors and windows tight to heat our homes—is the best time to test for radon levels at home.

Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers in the United States.

Testing your home for radon is easy, and it’s the only way to know if you are being exposed to radon at home.

You can apply to receive a free radon test kit in Oregon, which is available to those who qualify, while supplies last here: https://ow.ly/mW4C50XUfI2

In the US and Canada, radon is the leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. 1 in 15 homes in the US have radon levels that are considered too high (4 pCi/L or above, as per the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's recommendations.

Earlier this year, Airthings' Joakim Lindh met inspirational radon awareness advocate, Judith Spence. Here, Judith shares her story of how, after borrowing an Airthings device from her daughter, she discovered that her dream home in the countryside was harboring dangerously high levels of radon.

🏡 Every home should measure radon. Watch the full episode now at airthings.com/radon

This film was produced for Airthings by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions.

Thank you to Judith and her family for taking part, and the team at BBC Story Works, especially to Carter Kirilenko and Adam Combs in helping to bring this story to life💛

☢️ Radon is a leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers, and because you can’t see or smell it, many people never know it’s there. In fact, 1 in 15 homes in the US has radon levels that are considered unsafe.

The good news is that checking your home for radon is simple. Corentium Home 2, together with radon insights in the Airthings app, makes it easy to monitor your radon levels over time and understand what to do next. The monitor also tracks temperature and humidity, both of which, when too high or too low, can impact health and well-being.

Same home, completely different radon levels.

Radon isn't a constant. Levels change with the seasons, the weather, and even with how you use your home.

A single radon test gives you one data point; continuous monitoring shows you the full picture: when levels spike, what might trigger them, and steps you're taking to fix high radon levels are actually working.

Think of it like checking your blood pressure once vs. tracking it over months. One check tells you something. Tracking over time tells you a LOT more.

From spotting trends to understanding day-by-day changes, Airthings' radon insights, now available for all connected Airthings products with a radon sensor, help you feel confident making decisions about your home's radon levels.
