Mad Goats is not just a company, it is a lifestyle! Experience paddling and sauna life with us goats!

We are perhaps best known for our fantastic Akerselva River Tour that takes you through the heart of Oslo, past the Oslo Opera House and Munch Museum, and out onto the wonderful Oslo Fjord. We also offer floating sauna experiences in central Oslo, Moss and soon in Tønsberg. We have multiple locations throughout central Oslo (Tjuvholmen, Lysaker, Sukkerbiten, and Bjørvika) where we provide våttkort sea kayaking courses, SUP rentals, & kayak tours on Oslo Fjord - anything kayak, sauna or SUP related, we got your back! We also run river kayaking courses and tours in one of the worlds most famous whitewater kayaking destinations, Sjoa - 3.5hrs north of Oslo on the E6. We have a beautiful base up there, where we offer camping, sauna, ice bathing and whitewater paddling activities. We are also currently establishing paddling & sauna bases in Tønsberg and Moss (two beautiful paddling & waterside sauna destinations, only a 1.5hr train ride south from central Oslo), where we will run courses, provide rentals, and offer floating sauna expereinces. Few things in life match the feeling of freedom you get out on the water or taking a hot sauna and cold plunge during the winter - join us and see for yourself! Maaaeeeeehh!

🔥 Sauna Season in Sjoa! 🔥
Our riverside sauna at Mad Goats Sjoa is open all winter — self-service and always stocked with firewood! 🌲🔥

We’re still adding lights and winter water, so for now just bring your own water and use a headlamp or phone torch. Trust us — sitting in the heat, watching the river flow through the snowy valley… it’s pure magic. ❄️💧

We’re not hibernating this winter—in fact, we’re keeping the adventure rolling straight through the cold season! Here’s what’s happening:

🚣 Akerselva & Oslo Fjord Tours
Running every Saturday & Sunday until the end of the year.
Bookings are now open—come paddle the crisp waters and see Oslo from a whole new winter perspective!

🛶 Rentals – Tjuvholmen & Bjørvika
Both rental locations will stay open through the winter: Mad Goats Bjørvika and Mad Goats Tjuvholmen.
Reduced rental prices for the winter season.
Please note: From November onwards, you’ll need your own drysuit to rent from us.
No matter the season: always wear proper outdoor clothing, paddle with a buddy, and know your self-rescue. Safety first, goats second.
