Extended Laparatomy
A large, well-circumscribed retroperitoneal cystic mass measuring approximately 4 kg was excised. The cyst was encapsulated, with a smooth external surface. On cut section, it revealed thick, white, pultaceous (cheese-like) material filling the cavity. The consistency was doughy to firm. No solid nodules or hemorrhagic areas were noted.
Based on the gross morphology and contents, the findings are suggestive of a primary retroperitoneal dermoid cyst (mature cystic teratoma) — a benign germ cell tumor containing keratinous and sebaceous material.
