Central Selection RI22 Notice

- If you test positive for Covid-19 on arrival for Central Selection, you will not be allowed to continue with your attempt at selection and you will be asked to isolate for 10-days following Government of Nepal guidelines.

- If you are a Potential Recruit (PR) that has failed their LFD test before entering British Gurkhas Pokhara, we would like to invite you to re-attend on a date listed on our website.

- Please ensure you isolate first as per Government of Nepal guidelines, then attend on the date specified.
If you do not attend on the date specified, you will not be allowed to re-attempt.

CRITERIA FOR ATTENDANCE FOR BRITISH GURKHAS AND SINGAPORE POLICE FORCE RECRUIT INTAKE - 2022
(1)CRITERIA FOR REGISTRATION: Both BA & GCSPF applicants must go through the following assessments:
*Repeated Lift & carry(short) 20kg burden carry from 1.5 platform to 1.5m platform over 30 meters (best effort, 5 laps with and 4 laps without burden in under 1 mintutes and 46 seconds)
*Over Arm Heaves: Pass or fail, must do 12 heaves to register.
*Medical:There will be basic medical checks.
*Education: For both BA and GCSPF there will be maths Test-though BA and GCSPF use different test papers.
(2) REGIONAL SELECTION: Regional selection for both western and Eastern PRS will be held at British Gurkhas Pokhara camp. Only sucessful candidates at the Registration eill be called forward for the Regional selection. For BA(29Aug-10 Oct 2021) and for GCSPF(10Nov-10 Dec 2021)The call forward instruction will be published on 2 Aug 2021.
*Physical Assessment: We strongly encourage the candidates to train for all the physical Assessments stated below.
- 800m run: Best effort under 2 minutes and 30
seconds.
-Jerry can carry: Best effort carey two 20kg water
jerrycans for 240 meterr under 2 minutes
*MEDICAL: There will be basic medical checks.
*EDUCATION: For both BA and GCSPFthere will written English tests- though BA and GCSPF use different test papers.
*INTERVIEW: At the end BA candidates will be interviwed in English and Nepali by a board consistingof one British and one British Officer.The GCSPF candidates will be interviewed will be interviewed by one British/Singapore and two Gurkha officers.
(3)CENTRAL SELECTION:
*Sucessful candidates at regional selection will be called forward to Central selection at British Gurkhas Pokhara Camp. The call forward instructions will be published on 11 Oct 2021 For British Army and on 11 Dec 2021 For Gurkha Contingent Singapore Police Force Candidates. During this this period a series of physical, educational and medical assessments will be conducted. Applicants will be brifed further during Regional Selection.
