We are excited to announce the AMPATH Nepal Partnership Pilot Project 2026 and invite full-time faculty and staff of DH,KUH, and KUSMS to submit proposals for innovative pilot projects.

This initiative offers up to USD 25,000 for 4 selected projects with a funding duration of up to two years, in collaboration with partners from Mount Sinai.

Priority Areas Include:
• Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) (Facility-based and/or Community-based)
• Adolescent health
• Women’s and child health
• Research
• Education

A Cardiac (especially Echocardiogram) and Dermatology Health Camp was successfully conducted at Salambu Health Center, providing specialized consultation and screening services to the local community.

51 patients benefited from the services provided during the camp. Such outreach initiatives help bring specialized healthcare services closer to rural communities, ensuring early diagnosis and timely management of cardiac and skin conditions.

The RISK-E-SCAPE Hub, Dhulikhel Hospital Kathmandu University Hospital, successfully concluded an enriching week of learning (22–27 March 2026) in Dhulikhel, Nepal.

Under the RISK-E-SCAPE Project, the 2nd cohort of the Short Course on "Improving Disaster Health and Climate Resilience in Nepal and Bangladesh" brought together interactive sessions, group activities, participant presentations, and a hands-on tabletop exercise—fostering meaningful learning and collaboration.

Heartfelt thanks to all the participants for their enthusiasm, to the facilitators for their expert guidance, and to the observers for their valuable insights and support. Together, we took an important step toward strengthening disaster health and climate resilience.

A well-structured and engaging Public Health Policy and Management course at PGIMER, Chandigarh, organized by the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC), the Indian Embassy in Nepal, and the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) was attended by Dr. Bina Bhattarai, Dr. Prapti Giri, and 46 other medical professionals from Nepal.

The training sessions were insightful and practical, offering valuable perspectives on public health systems, policy, and management in real-world settings. The interactive sessions, cultural night, and especially the gamification activities made the learning process both enjoyable and impactful.

A visit to the iconic Punjab and Haryana High Court, part of the Capitol Complex and a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Integrated Command and Control Center in Chandigarh showcased a remarkable blend of history, architecture, and governance.

It was truly a memorable experience filled with learning, networking, and inspiration.

Dhulikhel Hospital successfully conducted the 5th Basic Obstetrics and Gynecology Training from 23rd to 27th March 2026 for Medical Officers from different medical institutions across Nepal, especially those working in rural healthcare settings.

This 5-day training focused on strengthening essential maternal and reproductive health services by enhancing clinical knowledge, hands-on skills, and confidence in managing common obstetric and gynecological conditions in underserved areas.

Dhulikhel Hospital Kathmandu University Hospital

Dhulikhel Hospital is an independent, not for profit, non-government institution which was conceived and supported by the Dhulikhel community, as a quality health services provider. The hospital was inaugurated by the late king HM Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in 1996, as a collaborative project of the Municipality of Dhulikhel, NepaliMed International and Dhulikhel Health Service Association.

The Hospital is guided by the principles of social equity, sustainable development and harmony with nature. Through its trained staff, it provides cost effective, compassionate and quality health care services. The hospital believes in the fact that quality health services need not always be an expensive commodity and limited only to those who are rich enough to afford.

Dhulikhel Hospital is located in Dhulikhel Municipality, headquarter of the Kavre district. It has a population of about fourteen thousand and Kavre district has the population of about 1.6 million people. It is situated 1650 meters above sea level and 30 Km Northeast of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Dhulikhel is famous for its breathtaking scenic beauty and pleasant climate.
